After fighting the kaiju, they repaired the city and they all came back to normal.

Instead of celebrating their victory, Yuta and the others checked on Takuya and the kids. The twins apologized for their behavior and were given a lecture by Yume and Yomogi. On the other hand, Takuya left without saying a word and his family grew more worried about him.

The Hibiki Household; the next day...

I laid back on their couch and sighed. "Why do we have to babysit again...?"

"Aah..." Ayaka cooed.

"I don't mind doing it. After all, we're just staying here."

I looked at Max. "Of course you like it..."

Ayaka grabbed one of her toys and started shaking it; it created a popping noise and started to annoy me.

"Oi. Stop that."

She looks at me. "Aah?"

I grunted. "Gosh! I wish you could understand me!"

"I-It's fine. She's just a baby."

"Hmm..."

Vitt yawned. "It's just a toy. Does it irritate you that much?"

Ayaka continued shaking it and I grunted. "Yes...it does..."

"Aah!" She lets go of the toy and sends it straight at my face.

"Itai! Oi!"

"Aah?"

"C-Calm down, Borr. She didn't mean to do that."

"I know that!"

Vitt picked up the toy and handed it back to her. "Here you go."

She looks at it, then smacks it from his hand. "Aah..."

"L-Looks like she doesn't want it anymore."

"Seems so." Ayaka grabs onto Max's mask. "Hmm..."

"By the way, where's their other kids?"

"Takuya and Rin? Hmm...if I remember right, Rin went to hang out with Haruto; and Takuya..."

"Left."

"To where?"

"We don't know."

There was a brief pause and it was silent.

"So...is Grid going to do anything about it?"

"Beats me. Grid seems awfully quiet when Takuya is involved."

Suddenly, the T.V in the living room flickered and turned on. "Did someone say something about me?"

"Oh, Grid."

"Now you show up."

"Gomen."

"Hey, you know where Takuya is?" I asked.

He stared at us, then looked away. "Gomen. I cannot tell you."

"Why's that?"

"He wanted to be alone for a while; he told me to tell everyone not to disturb him or even look for him."

"How cold..."

"Takuya has suffered a lot; he lost his friends and feels that everything that has happened is his fault. He needs time to heal."

"So that's why he's been distancing himself from the others. He still feels the guilt of failing to protect those around him."

"Aah...?"
