Chapter 5

Finally on midnight, they finally arrived in Yunmeng.

They just stopped in a small house near the lotus river as Wei Wuxian helped Lan Wangji down and carried him to the door, then he knocked only to be open by Wen Qing who looked surprised and shock to see them.

"Wei Wuxian?"

"Wen Qing...can we stay here for a bit?

Wen Qing had let them in after seeing the little child in Lan Wangji's chest and the tired looks of the two teenagers.

Wen Qing led them to a room as Wei Wuxian set Lan Wangji down on the bed.

"Wei Wuxian...who's child is that?"

Wen Qing asked curiously.

Wei Wuxian looked over at Lan Wangji asking for permission silently. Lan Wangji only give him a small nod.

"I don't know how to explain this to you Wen Qing...but uhm...A-Yuan is ours. Both me and Lan Zhan are his parents."

Wen Qing looked at him like he was crazy, until the baby began to cry in Lan Wangji's arms.

Lan Wangji tried to calm him down by rocking him back and fort but then his injury started to hurt. Wei Wuxian noticed this of course and took the baby away from Lan Wangji who started to clutched his lower abdomen.

"Wen Qing. I really need your help to heal Lan Zhan! I operated him just as the nurses taught me back in the Sect grounds, but I guess it's only temporary..."

Wen Qing nodded and told Wei Wuxian to get out so she can help Lan Wangji.

Wei Wuxian only nodded and on his way out of the room, he bump into Wen Ning who was surprised to see him.

"Young Master Wei...?"

"Wen Ning.."

"Greetings Young Master Wei...I didn't know you were coming"

"Oh no need to bow Wen Ning, you and your sister are like siblings to me.."

"...we think of that as well."

Wen Ning said as he then noticed the small -now- calm baby in Wei Wuxian's arms.

"Young Master Wei...that baby"

"He's mine and Lan Zhan..."

Wei Wuxian replied, looking fondly at his son. Wen Ning blushed and smile at the small baby.

An hour later and Wen Qing finally got out of the room.

Wei Wuxian stood up from the chair he was sitting, Wen Ning doing the same.

"Wen Qing, how is Lan Zhan?"

Wen Qing looked at him and give a small smile.

"You did great on stitching and cleaning his injury...but it was still dangerous for you because you're not properly trained! But luckily, Lan Wangji is fine now. He just fell asleep and his wound will heal in a few months, more or less"

Wei Wuxian nodded at her as he give a sigh of relief.

"Thank you Wen Qing... I don't know what I'd do without you"

"All is well Wei Wuxian. This is payback for everything you have done to help us"

Wen Qing showed a small smile and Wei Wuxian returned it.
