Chapter 11

After the Lan Sect left the burial mounds, the Jin and other smaller sets were left behind.

"I gave you the chance to back down but you didn't listen. Now. Face my WRATH"

"Wangji, what are you doing here so late?"

"Waiting for Wei Ying"

Lan Xichen could only smile sadly at his younger brother. He knew if he were to tell his brother to stop worrying and just rest, Lan Wangji wouldn't listen so Lan Xichen just stayed quiet and accompanied Lan Wangji through the night.

A little while later Jiang Wanyin found them asleep in the docks with Lan Wangji sleeping next to Lan Xichen who was surely about to doze off. Jiang Wanyin click his tongue in annoyance before tapping Lan Xichen's shoulder gently. Lan Xichen slowly lift his head and turn to see Jiang Wanyin.

"Wanyin.."

"You should bring your brother back to his quarters, he might catch a cold and you should go back to your chambers."

"Ah, right."

Lan Xichen said smiling at Jiang Wanyin who scoffed and looked away as Lan Xichen stood up carrying his brother in his arms as him and Jiang Wanyin began to walk back inside.

Lan Xichen closed the door behind him after putting his brother into his bed. He then walked away and made his way to his chambers but he was stopped when he saw Jiang Wanyin in the Gazebo surrounded by a lotus pond.

Jiang Wanyin was sitting near the pond with his feet dangling and on the water. Lan Xichen smiled, Jiang Wanyin looked like he was thinking about something. Lan Xichen only stared at Jiang Wanyin bathe in the moon's light. 

"You should really stop staring Sect Leader Lan."

Lan Xichen's cheek dusted with the pink color feeling embarrassed as he walked towards Jiang Wanyin who didn't even look at his direction.

"I apologize for staring, it was rude of me but I couldn't help looking at someone so beautiful"

Lan Xichen said and Jiang Wanyin flinched at the compliment his face going red.

"W-Who's beautiful? you should really rest now Sect Leader Lan, you're talking nonsense."

Jiang Wanyin said as Lan Xichen chuckled at his reaction. He thought Jiang Wanyin's reaction was cute.

"I was going to rest in my chambers but I caught you staring into space, you seem to be thinking something deep Sect Leader Jiang."

Lan Xichen said as he then sat next to Jiang Wanyin who seemed surprise on his sudden behavior. Jiang Wanyin mumbled something under his breath but Lan Xichen heard it vaguely.

"What was that Sect Leader Jiang?"

He asked in a teasing way that jiang Wanyin glared at him and turn his head to the pond where the lotus flowers bloomed.

"I said call me what you used to, I'm not comfortable with you calling me by my title..."

Jiang Wanyin not looking Lan Xichen and continuing to look down at the pond where a koi fish made its way to swim under them. Lan Xichen smiled at Jiang Wanyin and then took off his outer robes to put it on Jiang Wanyin after seeing the younger Sect Leader shiver from the cold. Jiang Wanyin was caught off guard and turn to look at Lan Xichen.

"Sect Leader Lan-

"You need it more than me, I'm used to the cold."

Lan Xichen stopped mid sentence and tucked a hair away from Jiang Wanyin's face for which the younger one immediately pulled away blushing furiously.

"And if Sect Leader wishes to be called by his courtesy, I would gladly do it if Sect Leader Jiang is willing to call me by my birth name"

He knew he was risking something, he may have crossed a line when he felt jiang Wanyin flinch but what surprised him was Jiang Wanyin's reaction when he turned to face Lan Xichen. His face was red and he was pouting which Lan Xichen found cute.

"O-okay...A-Huan-

At that moment, it seems that Lan Xichen had really lost his self-control cause the next thing he knew he had leaned in and press his lips against Jiang Wanyins' dry but soft lips. Lan Xichen thought he had messed up and was about to pull away when he felt Jiang Wanyin kissed him back. The kiss was short but it was sweet. When they both pulled away, Jiang Wanyin blushed again much brighter than the last time as he immediately pulled away from Lan Xichen.

"Wha-What just happened?"

"I-I'm sorry Wanyin, I wasn't thinking straight and I didn't know what came over me, I-

Lan Xichen's panic state was interrupted by a laugh. Jiang Wanyin was laughing at him and not that just, Lan Xichen was mesmerized on how angelic Jiang Wanyin's voice was when he laughs. He stared at Jiang Wanyin for sometime until the younger calm down and blushed again in embarrassment, he had been blushing a lot that night he thought.

"Sorry for laughing at you Sec- I mean A-Huan, seeing you panic was just hilarious considering how compose you are everyday. I haven't laughed like that since my parents died....Thank you"

Jiang Wanyin smiled at him. Lan Xichen feel like he had just accomplish something. He smiled back.

"I'm glad you're feeling happy Wanyin"

He stated and as the wind blows stronger, the two people's feelings at the lotus pond grows stronger as well. One leans in for another kiss and the other kissed back. The two spent the rest of the night talking and looking at the koi fish swimming in the pond. That night the Sect Leader of Yunmeng slept soundly in the shoulder of the Sect Leader of Gusu.

"Sleep Well Wanyin"
