The Quest Mission (ON HIATUS)

Chapter 2

Star reentered through the curtains and sighed with relief that it was done. During the show, she sang her heart out with the song she chose. The song is friendly enough for the audience and for children. As she sang, she didn't even know that a familiar demon was staring at her the whole time with hearts in his red eyes. He is a flirt trying to find a girlfriend, but because of his disease, he has little hope. Brutus, his wolf brother, noticed and rolled his eyes. Benjamin flirts with every woman he meets. Brutus is indeed only 12, though, but he is quite mature for his age.

Even during the show, Brutus had stars in his brown eyes while Benjamin smiled while his arms were crossed. For Benjamin, Star's voice is exactly that of an angel from heaven. In his eyes, Star is an angel. After the show, when Star's figure disappeared, Benjamin said, "She's hot!"

Brutus looked at his older brother with a blank expression. "Do you really have to flirt with her now?"

Benjamin looked away with an innocent expression and began whistling with his arms and hands behind his back. Brutus rolled his eyes and the brothers were about to leave until Benjamin remembered that he and Brutus needed to look for Star, but Sally gave the description of what Star looked like and Benjamin's eyes went wide. That's Star who was singing on the stage!

Brutus saw how Benjamin looked and he became concerned. "Is something wrong?"

"Brutus, that woman who was singing on stage is Star! We have to go get her now!"

Brutus nodded and was about to go to Star behind the curtains until Benjamin smiled at him. "And who knows, then you can ask for Marvin's autograph."

That made Brutus excited. Since he was little, Marvin had been becoming his biggest idol. "Let's go," he said before he and Benjamin went behind the curtains.

Marvin was the last one to do the show on stage, together with Otto Jr. Together they danced for the audience and together they also had fun. The audience thinks the kid is cute outside of the circus and Marvin doesn't mind. The mouse is currently using his towel to treat his sweat. As always, Marvin is pleased with the outcome of the show. "What a show. Well done, everyone!"

"M-Mr. Marvin?"

That caught Marvin's attention. He put down his towel and turned toward the voice. There are the brothers, Benjamin and Brutus. The wolf was holding a small poster of the circus and appeared to be nervous. Brutus said he's been a fan since he was little and asked for his autograph, but Benjamin noticed his little brother was stuck so he helped him. "He wants your autograph, dude."

Benjamin watched happily as Brutus spoke to his idol. The demon himself also has an idol, but it was an author. But he also seemed to like a new idol, and that was Star herself. Oh, yes! Where was she? She was nowhere to be seen.

That's when the door opened and Star emerged wearing fresh clothes. She took a shower and dried her hair with a hair dryer. Benjamin's heart beat faster. She looked more beautiful from close by. Star came over to them with a smile on her face. "Hey, Marvin. Who are they?"

Marvin smiled at her. "Star, meet the brothers, the demon is Benjamin and the wolf is Brutus."

Something clicked in Star's mind and she looked at the brothers. Benjamin, the demon, smirked at her, making her cheeks red. Why even? He's a flirt, but also kind of handsome. In fact, Benjamin is the most handsome demon she has ever seen. But then Star remembered that she had to go on a quest along with some adventurers, but when Star looked at the clothes, the brothers looked exactly like adventurers. Benjamin also even had goggles on his head. That's when Star knew. That's them.

She smiled broadly with happiness and extended her hand to Brutus first. "Pleased to meet you, Brutus. How cute you look like my step-cousin."

Brutus smiled and took her hand. "Hello, Star." Then he got stars in his brown eyes. "You sing really great!"

Star giggled and that touched Benjamin. When Star reached out her hand to the demon, he grabbed her hand and kissed the back of her hand. Star blushed more and laughed a little. Benjamin chuckled. Brutus rolled his eyes and Marvin smiled. If Snow Ball and Midnight saw this, they would be protective of their sister. Josh would either tease.

Benjamin kept holding her hand. "But what Brutus said is true. You sang like an angel."

Star smiled in surprise. Benjamin feels himself earning a point. Okay, now I have this angel in front of me. Now she still needs the where-, Benjamin wanted to finish his sentence in his head, but he was interrupted by a cute little bunny. It's Otto Jr. with his father, Otto.

The little paw is holding his daddy's paw. He smiled adorably. "Uncle Marvin! Uncle George and I are going shopping and we're taking Daddy with us! You need anything?"

Star looked sad. Otto looked depressed. He didn't even sleep and you can see it in his eyes. But Star has hope that he will be cured in the future. Marvin patted the kid's head and just said he had to take care of his father. That's when Star felt it. Fire in her belly and it quickly spread throughout her body. She started panting softly and that caught everyone's attention. But that's also when Benjamin started coughing. He groaned and gasped in pain. He then began to cough blood.

Brutus' eyes went wide in panic and he immediately supported his brother. "Oh, no! Hold on, Benjamin!"

Marvin's eyes went wide in horror. But before he could do anything, he saw Star walking away with drops of blood on the floor. He couldn't believe his eyes. Was Star sick, too? That can't be true.

Star quickly ran to her room and she was about to close her door for privacy, but pain attacked her and she fell to the floor. She began to cry and put her arms around her stomach. She closed her eyes hard. She tried to breathe quietly to ease the pain, but she couldn't.

"Aunt Star?" It was Otto Jr. who said her name. After Star opened her eyes, she saw him standing by the door with puffy eyes. He had obviously been crying, too.

"H-Help," Star said in a weak soft voice.

That's when Otto Jr. ran away, most likely to go get help, and later came back with help from

Marvin and Dominic. But Star's vision got worse and then she passed out. Was she dead?
