The Quest Mission (ON HIATUS)

Chapter 5

Star couldn't believe her ears with what she heard. That dog is a psychopath for saying such a thing. What he said to them and herself is threatening and also even scary! But before the dog could do anything to the adventurers, Benjamin grabbed the hand of Brutus and Star. The demon looked terrible and also even looked scared. "Come. We can't stay here any longer," the demon said.

As the adventurers were running for their lives, Brutus began to cry. Star looked gently at the wolf and immediately wanted to comfort him, but they were still running until Benjamin finally turned the corner and stopped. He let go of the hands of the others. As they all began to pant a little softly because they had not been running fast, Benjamin saw that his little brother was crying. He immediately looked furious, and when Star saw this, she looked in shock.

"What in demons name... Why are you crying now, Brutus? You know how they are!"

Star pinned her ears down and looked on, saying absolutely nothing. Good thing Benjamin wasn't too loud or else he would grab the attention of an unwanted audience or even the live Siberian husky. Then Star looked angrily at the demon. What if it was Brutus who would have been hit by the bullet? Star has only her circus family and her brothers left. Her parents are dead, but where are the parents of Benjamin and Brutus? Benjamin seems to be 18 years old, while Brutus is 12.

Brutus sobbed and tried to control his crying. After calming down a bit, he said, B-But they're not bad, Ben! Something or someone sent them after us. I just know it! That poor guy shot his own brother."

Benjamin's angry expression disappeared and he looked gently at his brother. Star also stopped looking at Benjamin angrily when she saw this. She looked on. She watched as the demon gently lowered Brutus to his height. He saw that Brutus did not make eye contact. "Hey. Look at me." He said this softly.

Brutus did as his older brother said and looked straight into his red eyes.

"It's okay, Brutus. The dogs will survive. Trust me." Benjamin began comforting his little brother, and Star watched with a small smile on her face.

After Brutus appeared to be back to normal, Benjamin turned to Star and looked at her gently. The hybrid looked up at him with questioning eyes. When Brutus also looked at Star, he had a worried expression on his face. Star looked scared now. What is going on? Benjamin was the only one who noticed this in her and walked over to her. Star began to blush. Why even? Brutus is the only one who noticed this and grinned at her. Now Star felt embarrassed. Brutus is a smart young teenager and does know about love. Star is in love. With whom? Benjamin. Benjamin is actually a little bit smaller than Brutus, but he is almost as tall as Star. He can easily touch her head. When Benjamin stood in front of Star, he gently pressed his gloved hands against her warm soft cheeks and gently pulled her closer. Star blushed even harder and thought they would kiss. "Are you okay, Star? You're crying."

Star became dumbfounded. So that's why the brothers were worried about her! The hybrid didn't even realize she had been crying. "I-I'm fine," she stammered.

Then Benjamin finally noticed that Star was blushing. He smirked inside but did his best not to show it in front of Star's eyes. Instead, he pulled himself closer to Star's ear and whispered, "You're blushing. Do you have feelings for me?"

After Benjamin pulled himself back to look into her eyes, Star was stuck with an answer. She noticed that she had recently fallen in love with the demon, and he had just noticed? But does Benjamin even have feelings for her? Just after she opened her mouth to say something, she was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Brutus!" It's Marvin.
