The Quest Mission (ON HIATUS)

Chapter 6

Brutus perked up when he heard his name and immediately looked in the direction of his name. Benjamin and Star also looked in the direction of that familiar voice and it was indeed Marvin. The mouse came running toward them and stopped in front of Brutus. He noticed the wolf's eyes were puffy. Marvin looked worriedly at the young teenager. "Are you crying?"

Brutus' cheeks reddened. "M-Mr. Marvin!"

Marvin hugged Brutus and held him in his arms. Brutus blushed even harder. His biggest idol is hugging him. What should he do? How should he react? Brutus is himself and hugged his idol back. Marvin was startled at first because his eyes went wide, but he smiled at him and his eyes returned to normal. "I missed you too, Brutus."

Star looked at Benjamin and saw that he looked angry. Why? Even jealousy could be read in his red eyes. The hybrid bunny put her hand on his shoulder and Benjamin looked at her. His jealousy and anger were immediately displaced by ... love and warmth. He must be in love with Star too, right? But Star didn't want to be caught out in that mean joke. She was made an idiot as a teenager because she thought her crush was also in love with her after years of friendship they had. That can hurt, too. Star's crush did a prank that his friends made him do. After this joke, Star made their friendship over.

Star blushed and looked away from Benjamin's eyes. She giggled silently but was startled when Marvin put his hand on her shoulder to wake her up. "Come. We're all going to eat lunch! You must be hungry from all that adventure. My treat!"

Star discovered that Marvin was close by along with his family when he heard such noises outside. Star is grateful that her circus family is in order. The restaurant is fortunately close by and everyone went inside. After everyone found a place to sit down, Star was just about to sit down but Benjamin immediately came over to her and took out a chair. He grinned at her and Star blushed. She sat down and Benjamin sat down next to her. The two looked lovingly at each other with warm smiles. But their attention was stolen by Marvin watching his crying brother suffer from the furries and people in the restaurant. Marvin looked at his older brother with comforting eyes. Star looked sad and moved toward the mouse. "What happened?"

Marvin looked up from his brother with sad eyes once. "Otto hugged a tomcat who looked tremendously like Octavia."

Star couldn't believe it. So that's why the rabbit cried. A cat that looked enormously like his late wife. That broke Star's heart in pieces. When she looked at the cat in the café, she couldn't believe her eyes. It's Finn, a popular author for the adventures he wrote! She also noticed Benjamin speaking to him and how they shook hands as an introduction. Finn blushed hard because Otto almost wanted to kiss him since he thought Finn was Octavia.

Star walked over to him and Brutus joined his brother. Brutus looked sad. "He seems so sad. I wonder what happened."

Star looked surprised. So they don't know the truth? The hybrid walked toward the three. "I'm surprised you don't know the truth. Otto lost his wife to the Blood Illness. Since then he has been depressed and does not want to speak."

Finn, Benjamin, and Brutus looked gently at Otto, who was crying as Marvin tried to comfort him. Star gently watched the brothers. She knows perfectly well what it is like to feel loss. She lost her parents, one of them was her idol. It's Bunny, her father. But Star not only has her brothers left and her circus family, but she also has her uncles: Max, a bear, and a monkey. All three are good friends of her parents, especially her late father.

"Excuse me," Finn said and stood up from his seat. The brothers and Star watched the author cat and how he went over to Otto and talked to him.

"I still can't believe I met Finn!" said Benjamin, with a big smile on his face.

"We both met our biggest idols. What a great day!" Brutus looked at Star. "And who is your greatest idol, Star?"

Star looked a little sad on the floor and the brothers looked uncomfortable. But they knew immediately it must be someone who had died. Brutus looked guiltily at the hybrid and before he could say anything, a loud bam was suddenly heard. Benjamin, Brutus, and Star quickly looked to see who it was and their hearts stopped working for a few seconds. It is the same Siberian husky that is after them ... and he is here.

Before Star knew it, Benjamin and Brutus were off. But the Siberian husky is only interested in catching the brothers. Everyone looked questioningly at what happened, but Star knew the truth. The hybrid did not hesitate and went after Benjamin and Brutus. Hopefully, they are not dead because the Siberian husky does carry a gun.
