Jisung was shoved into a room, the door slamming behind him. Shouts were heard on the other side of the door, the young boy covering his ears. He was scared beyond hell. He felt a pair of arms pull him closer, the boy looking up with tears in his eyes.
"You're safe in here," the other boy whispered. His voice shook with fear, tears also running down his face.
"It doesn't feel like that Minho," Jisung whispered back.
"I don't like it when my parents fight."
"Let's move away from the door then. Your mom will get us when it's safe."
The two boys stood up slowly, Minho gently holding Jisung's wrist. They walked to the back of the room, their safe haven, going to the back wall, their backs making contact and slowly sliding down until they sat on the floor. Tears still flowed down Jisung's face.
The two only sat there in silence. It was like that often for the two young boys, hiding away in a hidden room within Jisung's bedroom. They were very young actually, Jisung being 6 and Minho being 8. Way too young to fully process what was happening to them. All they knew was the yelling was terrifying and that they were safe within this room. Jisung's father didn't know about it, which was all they cared about.
"At least it's better than your house," Jisung whispered.
Minho sighed softly. "I guess. How's your back?"
Jisung sighed softly, uncurling from his ball, lifting his shirt and revealing rays of scars extending down his back. "Not much better."
Minho frowned. "No, not really..." Minho took a deep breath. "I don't like my dad."
"I don't like my dad either."
The door finally opened, Jisung's mother walking in. She approached the two young boys and knelt in front of them.
"It's okay boys. Mr Han is gone for now," She gently wiped their tears away. "I'll get you both something to eat and then we will be leaving. Mr Han had to suddenly go on a business trip so we'll be visiting your friends again. Stay here for now."
And with that, she stood and left. Jisung leaned into Minho, the two embracing each other. Once again, it was quiet.
!
An alarm rang through Jisung's ear, the boy groaning loudly. He reached for the alarm clock, snoozing it. Realistically, he had to wake up but his dreams refused to let him go. He felt someone squeeze his arm, Jisung turning himself around to see Minho. He pushed his face into his shoulder, groaning softly. He felt Minho wrap his arms around him, pulling him close.
"I don't wanna wake up..." Minho groaned out, nuzzling his nose into the top of Jisung's head. He took a deep breath in and gently released it. He pulled away, looking deep into his eyes. "But good morning." He smiled at him.
"Did you sleep well?" Jisung asked.
"As well as you can when you sleep next to someone who snores."
Jisung scoffed, hitting his arm. Minho chuckled, stretching softly. His body collapsed back into the bed, looking over at Jisung. "I'm waiting for Seungmin to walk through our door."
Jisung nodded along with him, rubbing his eyes. They slowly closed as the sun shined into the room through the blinds, waking him up once more. He sighed as sat up, the dorm room door swinging open.
"Good morning!" Seungmin exclaimed a little too happily for that early in the morning.
Jisung groaned loudly, laying back down. "God, I want to go back to sleep."
