The bunker doors fly open, and Dean rushes down the stairs, finding Sam in the foyer.
"Hey. What happened?" He stands, watching Dean throw a duffel bag onto the floor without a word. He crosses to the study, opens a beer, downs almost all of it in a continuous gulp, and crosses his arms over his chest. Leaning against the grey mechanical machine and colorful buttons of mystery. "Kai?" Sam nervously asks, keeping his brother in his peripheral. She bit her cheek, avoiding his eye. Seeing her hesitance, he requests more forcefully. "Kyiah."
"She's got some hard history with a vamp." Dean spoke up, drinking again. Sam widens his eyes, looking to her.
"And you didn't tell us? Kai, you should have said something sooner so we can prevent a run in."
"Little late for that. We just had one." Dean offensively flicked his beer in the air. Kyiah shot a scornful scowl.
"Yeah, well I'm not the one who went all rage machine." She hurled. Dean pauses, the betrayal in his stare put a bolder in her queasy gut, as the whole room fell quiet. Sam slowly rotates his stance.
"What?" He asks looking to his brother for clarification.
"Oh, bite me." Dean growls, locking eyes with Kai as he swigs again.
"Dean, I told you to be careful." Sam protests.
"Yeah, I know." He shot, breaking contact with her.
"I warned you about this!"
"Damn it, Sam-" Dean stood to his feet.
"Okay, enough!" She shouts, disrupting the boys squabble. With their focus to her, she releases a tense sigh. "There's something you don't know.."
"Kyiah." Castiel appeared behind her by the stairs, flipping everyone around to see him. "No." His voice outright with force as he neared.
"But-"
"Kyiah. I said, no." A thunderclap followed in his raspy retort, rumbling through the thick walls of the underground bunker.
"What don't we know?" Dean set his drink on the table. There was no answer.
"Cas.." Kai pressed in sorrow.
"NO." He barks, desperate to knock some sense into her. To protect her. Just like he's always done.
"They deserve to know!" She tirelessly expels. "It's time..." Her unruly stubbornness betraying him once more. After a moment of what seemed to be telepathic communication. The angel stiffens his face, and disappears. Subsequent to another echoing roll of thunder. Kai turns back to see the boys wearing a crippling, apologetic look.
"Kyiah.." Sam begs. She takes a long blink, lowering her voice.
"I've got..generational family history with.. some, creatures.." The Winchesters shift in different directions. Sam stiffens up while Dean drops his shoulders. "We just ran into the vamp who killed my father." Kai brings her eyes directly to Dean. "I wasn't thinking-"
"No, you weren't." He criticized.
"What kinds of creatures?" Sam badgers. Her sea foam eyes haze with tears as she shifts to see his betrayed expression.
"Dracula's many children, a reaper or two, werewolves, some high level demons, and uhm... Velkan Valerious..." Her voice chokes against his name. Sam slowly sat down, as if out of breath.
"Velkan?...THE Velkan Valerious?" Kyiah remains silent, swallowing back the emotion harassing her remote face. She caught sight of Dean, walking toward the hall.
