Part 8

TW: alcohol

~Lyra's POV~

"Thank you Puff" I smile at Puffy as she gives Techno and I our food.

"Of course. I'll come over by you guys when I'm done." she smiles back and waves as we walk away.

"Where do we eat?" Techno asks, taking a bite of his bread.

"Anywhere" I lean against the railing and start eating.

"Fun" he says, looking over the railing and putting his plate on the barrel next to us.

"Where do you think we're going next?" he asks, looking at the sunset.

"Considering we just did a raid, probably just getting resources so any abandoned island will do." I shrug, scanning the ship for Puffy.

"Cool" he smiles, turning around to eat his dinner.

"Hey guys" Puffy smiles at me and walks over.

"Hey!" I grin and stand up straight.

"Any news from Jasper?" she asks, eating her dinner.

"None. He's in his usual 'we're getting closer and he's not ready' mood though so I'm assuming it's something coming up soon." I shrug, taking a swig from my flask.

"When did you get water?" Techno asks, scoffing slightly.

"It's vodka" I wince slightly as the alcohol burns my throat.

"Where'd you get vodka?" Puffy chuckles.

"I carry some with me. When you're Jasper's go-to right hand man, you need it." I smile and put the flask back in my pocket.

Puffy nods and smiles, looking down at the floor.

"Listen up!" Jasper yells from the stern, his voice bellowing across the empty ocean around us.

I groan and put my plate down, crossing my arms and leaning against the railing.

"As some of you may have noticed, the former king Technoblade has been wandering the ship. That is because he is joining us as a permanent member of our crew!" he grins and looks at the cheering crowd below him.

"In other news, we are running out of supplies so that's our next task. I mapped out our route to the nearest abandoned island and it will take around two days. So that means, we will have a party tomorrow night. Continue your dinner." Jasper states and walks back to the steering wheel.

The crowd erupts into cheers as I take another swig of vodka and sigh.

"Get ready for tomorrow" Puffy purses her lips and raises her eyebrows.

"Why?" Techno asks.

"It'll probably go on for hours and you'll get a killer hangover afterwards." I say, not excited for tomorrow.

"Oh" he nods slowly, finishing his dinner.

"Done?" I ask, taking my last bite of food.

"Yeah" he nods, smiling slightly.

"Puffy?" I turn to her as she's finishing her dinner.

"Hm? Yeah." she smiles and drinks some water.

We walk over to a small table and put our plates in a stack.

"We're entering whale territory" Puffy states, leaning over the railing.

"How do you know?" I ask, joining her.

"Books" she shrugs and runs up the stairs to get a better view.

"Wanna follow her?" Techno asks, standing next to me.

"If you want" I shrug, looking at the school of fish swimming by.

"Guys! Get over here!" Puffy yells, waving us over.

We quickly walk up the stairs and look over the railing Puffy was standing by.

"Look" she says softly and points at the sea turtle swimming next to our ship.

"It's so cute" I smile, watching it swim away.

"Do you guys see sea creatures a lot?" Techno asks, stepping away from the railing.

"Yeah. It's one of our past times to just look at creatures passing by" Puffy nods, smiling at me.

"Why don't we do that right now?" I ask, sitting down and letting my legs swing off the edge.

"Sure" Puffy plops down next to me and watches the water.

"You coming?" I ask Techno as he leans against a mast.

He sighs and sits next to me, looking for any signs of life in the ocean below us.

After a few minutes, I see something

"What's that" I point to the fin coming out of the water.

"Dolphin fin" Techno says, yawning.

"You sure that isn't a shark fin?" Puffy asks.

"Nope" Techno nods.

"Interesting" I nod, yawning slightly.

"Tired?" Puffy asks, looking at me.

"A little" I close my eyes for a little bit.

"Let's get to bed" she taps my hand and helps me up.

"Ready?" I ask Techno as he stands up.

"Mhm" he nods, rubbing his eyes.

We all quietly walk over to the tent area and take the remaining hammocks.

"Night Techno, night Puffy" I smile and get into a hammock, pulling the blanket over me.

I look up at the sky and admire the stars, trying to map out any constellation I saw.

I felt my eyelids get heavy and I eventually give in, closing my eyes and drifting to sleep slowly.
