Part 19

~Lyra's POV~

I woke up to rustling below me. I sat up and looked over the railing, everyone was getting Jasper's stuff out of the office and Puffy's stuff in.

"You're awake" Puffy smiles and walks up the stairs.

I hum and rub my eyes.

"I found this in the cell area. I thought you might want it." she hands me the cup with the flower Techno gave me in it and I smile.

"Any thought on what I said yesterday?" she asks, sitting next to me.

"I mean other than the realization that I did love him, no." I shrug and put the cup down next to me.

"Wait what?" she says, looking at me.

"Yeah. But what can you do? It's not like he feels the same way." I scoff, looking at my bandaged leg.

I feel her flick the side of my head.

"What the hell" I groan, rubbing my head.

"You dumbass. Do you not see the way he looks at you? The way he talks to you? His smile every time he sees you?" she asks, making eye contact.

I stay silent and frown.

"Now he'll be here any second and we're leaving soon." she stands up and walks towards the railing.

"Never mind he's here." she walks down the stairs and smiles at me.

I get up and limp down the stairs. Techno looks over to me and smiles, his eyes lighting up.

"Good morning." he smiles and looks at me.

"Morning." I take a deep breathe and smile.

"Five minutes Ly" Puffy yells at me.

I look at him and purse my lips.

"I guess this is goodbye" he smiles and looks into my eyes.

"I guess so." I sigh, and hold the eye contact.

I debated telling him how I felt right then and there. Get it over with.

"Hey Techno?" I ask, fidgeting with my ring.

"Yes Lyra?" he responds, not breaking eye contact.

I stay silent. I wanted to confess.

"Stay safe, ok?" I smile and sigh.

I couldn't. I couldn't confess and then leave.

"You as well." he nods and smiles, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Goodbye Techno" I hold back tears and smile.

"We'll see each other again. I promise." he smiles.

"Bye Techno, I'll make sure to visit." Puffy comes up to us and smiles.

"Goodbye Captain Puffy." he smiles and nudges her shoulder.

"Captain Puffy. It has a ring to it." she laughs and smiles.
