~Lyra's POV~

"They're pulling the fireworks out." I point out the two men taking a crate upstairs by the hammocks.

"I love fireworks" Techno smiles, diverting his attention to across the ship.

"Same" I smile, looking around the ship.

"The sky is pretty" he mumbles, looking at the starry sky.

"Yeah it is" I mutter, staring up and looking at the moon.

Techno nudges me and points to the sky as a firework goes off. I watch the dot go up into the sky and erupt into a pattern of tiny orange sparks. I look over to Techno who was fixated on the second firework going off. I could see the reflection of the firework in his eyes, and I smiled subconsciously.

As another firework was lit, the colors shadowed onto his face. His features glowed under the pink light, a twinkle in his eyes, his pink hair tied into a messy ponytail.

"What's wrong?" he turned towards me and made eye contact.

"Hm? Oh nothing." I smile, watching his eyes crease slightly as he smiled back.

"You were staring at me" he chuckles, ignoring the fourth firework going off.

"No I wasn't." I frown, a slight blush on my cheeks.

"Ok" he scoffs, looking back at the fireworks.

I turn back as well, trying to shake the feeling of butterflies in my stomach away.

I slowly take another sip of beer and watch the fireworks. Techno takes my cup and puts it to his side.

"Hey, that's mine." I frown, reaching over him to grab it.

"Do you want to feel even shittier tomorrow than you did today?" he asks, grabbing my wrist gently before I could grab the cup.

"Fuck you" I mutter, propping one knee up and resting my head on it.

"Tired?" he asks, looking at me.

"A bit" I nod, feeling my eyelids getting heavy.

"What have you eaten today?" he asks, bringing my focus to him.

"Bread and a little bit of dinner. I'm fine though." I dismiss him, avoiding eye contact.

"Are you sure? That's not a lot and you had quite a bit of alcohol." he looks at me, concerned.

"I'm fine" I smile and nod, resting my head once again.

"Let me know if you need anything" he nods and turns back to the few fireworks that were left.

"Mhm" I hum, closing my eyes for a little bit.

~Techno's POV~

"Hey Lyra? The fireworks are over." I whisper, tapping her.

"Hm? Give me a few minutes." she says softly, smiling a bit.

"Whatever time you need" I watch the remaining smoke blow into the sky.

It goes silent. Other than the obvious hustle of the party below, it was silent. Lyra was quiet and I was trying not to disturb her.

I feel a sudden weight on my shoulder and I wince slightly.

"Lyra?" I ask, no response.

I look over to my shoulder, where her head was. Her hair had fallen over her face and her eyes were closed. She was breathing slowly and peacefully.

She was asleep.

"Oh" I sigh, blushing and smiling slightly.

I sit still, trying to get a little more comfortable without waking her up. I eventually get comfortable and I admire my surroundings. The sky was glistening, like Lyra's eyes whenever she talks about stuff she enjoys.

I felt my own eyelids getting heavy as I was sitting there. I didn't know how I was tired, considering all the yelling going on downstairs.

She was quite pretty.

I caught myself staring at Lyra a few times, admiring her beauty each time.

It was wrong. I've only known her for a few days, but it was enough for me to notice how beautiful she was. Her voice, her eyes, her hair, her laugh, how she cared for me, the way her eyes shined whenever she spoke about things she loved, everything about her brought me happiness.

But maybe I was just slowly going insane. Maybe I was just lonely and she was the nicest person here.

But I knew she was different from any other friendship I had.

"Hello everyone!" Jasper's voice bellows across the entire ship.

A chorus of 'hello's' and cheers erupted from the crowd.

"I know that you guys have been having an amazing time, but it's getting late, and we have a mission tomorrow so you all need rest. Feel free to continue chatting, but please stay quiet. And one big 'welcome' to Technoblade." he yelled, scanning over the ship.

The crowd cheered as everyone started cleaning up and getting ready for bed.

I stayed where I was, waiting for it to quiet down before moving the cups out of the way and gently tapping Lyra.

"Hm? Oh shit sorry." she sat up groggily, blushing.

"No worries. I didn't mind. I just assumed you'd want to sleep in a hammock and not a floor." I reassure her and smile.

"Oh, yeah that would be better." she chuckled.

I stood up and held my hand out. As she grabbed it, I pulled her up slowly. We slowly walked downstairs and to the hammocks. She laid down on one and I took the one next to her.

"Sorry I fell asleep on you" she whispers, turning to face me.

"Really, it's fine. I didn't mind at all." I smiled, making eye contact.

"Thanks for getting me off the floor" she chuckles and pulls the blanket over herself.

"It's common courtesy" I smile slightly.

"Still, it was very kind of you." she giggles, getting comfortable in her hammock.

"Goodnight Lyra" I nod and maintain eye contact.

"Goodnight Techno" she smiles back, a slight blush on my cheeks when she smiled.
