"Ms Carrera, glad to see you've dropped by." The Warden grinned at her, pointing to her seat in front of the desk. "You're aware you'll be leaving soon?"
Kiara beamed. "Yes, thank you."
"Don't thank me yet." The Warden frowned. "Slight change of plans. Your parents want you to stay longer, and you aren't of legal age to protest. You need another six months."
Her jaw dropped, heart rate increasing at the thought of continuous boiling showers and tight skirts. Then her eyes were watering at the realization she'd was even farther away from seeing her friends, from seeing JJ.
"Ms Carrera...?"
She blinked quickly, clearing her throat and nodded. "I understand."
"I wish you the best, Kie."
Her tears fell at the sound of the nickname, and she quickly wiped them away. "Yes, ma'am."

JJ couldn't say he hadn't seen their messages, he just didn't have the mindset to respond yet. He liked to sit and watch the waves during the evening, it helped him forget about everything.
Except he was running out of money, and he couldn't exactly sleep at the beach forever. So he finally unlocked his phone, ignoring the ten percent battery warning.
Math boi- We got the plane tickets (sent eleven days ago)
JB-Git the tickets to see your girl. Wya? (sent eleven days ago)
Math boi- Cmon man (sent ten days ago)

Kook Princess- JJ i swear to god (sent today)
Kook Princess- You're coming with us to get Kie. Pack your shit (sent thirty minutes ago)
JJ reread Sarah's last message. She sounded too serious. He went to type back a response, sighing when he couldn't find the words to decline what didn't really sound like an offer anyway. It was more of a demand.
He was almost grateful, packing his belongings and inhaling the oceans breeze like it was the end of an era. Then he was kicking off his shoes, grabbing them in one hand, and running barefoot down the wet sand.

"Where do you think he's been sleeping all this time?" Pope wondered aloud.
"If you were JJ, where would you sleep?" Jong B thought. "Assuming he wouldn't go home, the lighthouse is a pretty good place to start."

As Kiara left her office, she sniffled quietly. The hallway back to everyone else seemed too long, littered with different rooms. She was stumbling by the time she reached the third door.
When she looked up, she was lightheaded all over again. Then she squirted to read the sign labeled 'electronics.' A small, like tiniest smile passed over her features. She opened the door, almost shocked to find it unlocked.
There were walls of phones, plastic bags with vapes, pagers, lighters, iPads, and tablets. Kiara paused when she saw a certain sexual toy double bagged in the back of the room. The vibrations weren't hard to hear.
She quickly moved on to the names. A clipboard hung near a calendar in the corner of the room. She read 'Nora' near the bottom, and the corresponding number 28.
So she went down the isles, looking through the bags. She spotted her own phone before she saw Nora's, but she bagged them both the same way. Then she panicked, whipping her head around to check for cameras, and sighing when she figured there weren't any.
She did, however, forget to check the hallway cameras when she left. It would take her a while to find the establishment checked said cameras every two days. For now, she was sprinting in her white button up back to the common area.
Nora followed her back to her room after the younger ushered her so. "Leaving me yet?"
"No..." Kie swallows. "I'll fill you in on that later. I got our phones. Unlock yours so I can add my number."
Nora looked at the dried tears on her tanned face, and pretended not to notice. Kiara didn't want her comfort yet, and somehow, she knew that. So she did as she was told.
Once her number was added, Kiara sighed. "Alright, we got this."

Luke was sick by this point. Barry had been by the Maybank's house too many times, each time with drugs worst than the last. He hadn't been updated yet, and it hurt to know that he was continuing to lose control.

"Would you stop being a hater, Pope? Your dad is such a positive person, you'd think it would rub off on his son!" Sarah grumbled in the passenger seat.
"My father wouldn't be so positive if he knew the logistics of our current predicament."
"Big words, dude, stop talking." John B said from the wheel.
Both Pope and Sarah stopped arguing to look at him for a second. His lack of knowledge was bewildering before they pulled up at the beach. Their previous spots were the lighthouse, the Wreck, each of their houses, and of course the dock.
By now, it was the beach or nothing. They had three hours before the plane took off. Thank God Pope noticed the smallest bit of unkept blonde hair from a distance.
"Oh my god..."
"What?" Sarah quickly followed his eyes, seeing JJ shortly after, and repeating Pope's previous statement. "Oh my gosh."
She threw open the Twinkie's doors, stumbling it to run toward the sand. Pope and John B followed her shouts to the Maybank.
When they got closer, their first image was Sarah squeezing the life out of him in a chokehold of a hug. Then she shoved him back, practically scolding him with a minor crack in. her voice. Ny the end of her rant, she was quietly admitting she missed him, and both boys had expressed their similar reactions.
But now the question stood in the air. John B wasn't wasting time. "JJ?" He said.
"Yeah?" He was lacing up his shoes again during his reply.
"You coming with us to rescue Kie?"
They all stared at him for the forty five seconds it took him to answer. When he did, it brought smiles to their faces.
"Fuck yeah."
With that, he was pulling Pope and John B into their respectful and well deserved hugs. Their laughter and hoots could've been heard for miles.
"All right!" Pope uncharacteristically yelled. "That's what I'm talking about!"
"Let's go!" Sarah reminded them. "Two and a half hours till takeoff, move your butts boys!"
