"Eleven!" I screamed. I was walking around the woods looking for her. The boys went home and were going to make things right between Lucas and Mike, at least I hope so.

"God damnit." I was walking around for at least an hour now, searching. I decided to look near the Wheeler's first, when I walked back there with Mike and Dustin, then I walked towards the woods where I first found here a few days ago but I couldn't find her anywhere. It was exhausting and the feeling of loosing another person that's somehow like a little sister for me is fucking awful. I said I'd protect her and here I am walking towards the stores of the town, having no idea where she is.

But I had a hunch where she could have been now that I see a convenience store with shattered glass doors and people standing around gawking at it. I walked closer to one of the bystanders, wanting to know what happened.

"What happened here?" I ask.

The older lady turned towards me with a smile as greeting. She was smaller than me and had short grey locks. "Apparently some kid stole Eggos and then somehow smashed the doors. Had a shaved head even, and the kid looked like she was homeless, dirt everywhere. I mean, what kind of parent let's their daughter look like that and makes her steal food?" She answered while shaking her head with both disapproval and pity for the girl.

"Not good ones. Do you know, in which direction the girl went?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Thank you for the info, Ma'am." I smiled at her.

As I looked across the street, I saw two of the three boys on their bikes. They saw me too and Dustin waved me over. I bid my goodbyes to the old lady and walked towards them.

"I'm guessing the apology didn't go as well as planned?" I questioned as I came closer.

"You think?" Mike retorted.

"Do you think this has anything to do with El?" Dustin butted in, pointing towards the store.

"Uh...definitely." Mike answered. We looked at each other and made our way down the streets, the kids on their bikes and me on my skateboard. We rode through the places she could possibly be until we decided to double back towards the woods. We were calling her name, the boys a few meters behind me. I snapped my head towards my left when I heard a shuffle. I stood till and looked in the direction, the boys stopping too.

"What are you doing" Mike asked.

"I heard something, an animal or some shit. You guys stay here, I'll go check it out. Stay together, understand me? And don't go too far away from this spot, got it?" I asked them and they nodded.

I knew splitting off was always stupid, but if it is a hurt animal then the thing that took Will might have been responsible and I'm not gonna risk their lives to go check it out. As soon as they stay nearby, nothing can go wrong. I walked towards the sound and heard more shuffling from the direction. I saw somebody running between the trees. El. I sprinted after her, she was quite fast and I chased her for a good minute or something until I reached her. She let out a squeak as I caught her arm. I turned her around o look at me but didn't let her go quite yet to make sure she won't run again.

"Whoa, hey, hey, hey, it's just me, okay. It's me, alright? I won't hurt you, okay?" She let out a breath of relief and relaxed. She hugged me for a few seconds until I decided to break it up.

"Alright, that's enough. C'mon, we gotta go back to the two idiots." She left out a chuckle as we started walking. "You know, you are like really fast at running."

When we came back to where left the two boys, only their bikes were laying there.

"Fuck" I ran towards the bikes and looked for tracks so we could follow them.
