While standing face to face with Anna's grave, Amado came to the realization of his two biggest regrets, One: leaving his daughter alone thinking she'd be alright, and Two: leaving Rosario in despair with the false belief that he'd changed his mind about everything he once felt for her — He thought he could reject and even blame his drug trafficking profession but that's one thing he didn't regret at all.
Amado finished dialing a couple of numbers into his cellphone then brought it up to his ear hearing it ring and waiting for a response ...
The loud noise of a home phone ringing and echoing through the home startled Rosario as she stepped away from the front door and approached a small table near the stairs while carrying a package in her hands, finally, she picked up the telephone "Bueno?" (Hello?)
There it was ... her soft-spoken tone, Amado felt a light of life make it deep into his soul mixed with all the nervous emotions rushing through his body, She awakened him although he couldn't help but feel hesitant to speak into the receiver.
"...Bueno?" (... Hello?) Rosario repeated herself
Amado eventually spoke up to prevent her from hanging up "¿Que pues?" (What now?)
Rosario's heart dropped to her stomach and her eyes senselessly faded into an expressionless void. Violent disturbance would be the phrase to depict what she was feeling in the moment, she weakened and felt her body tumble onto the chair behind her " ...Amado?"
An instinctive smile drew onto Amado's face at the sound of her voice saying his name "¿Quiubo mi chula ... le llego el paquete?" (Hey my love ... you get the package I mailed?)
The shock had thrown Rosario into a numb euphoria, her eyes began to fill with tears and the biggest worry of them all had been deciphered even if she tried to deny it, this was excitement, fear, and relief — tranquility after hearing him alive. But what was he saying?
Rosario looked down at the package in her hand, she began to quickly rip it open finally revealing a white box that she rushingly uncovered, inside were papers and money in American dollar bills.
"Que es esto ..." (What's all this ...) she faintly asked
"Esas escrituras son las de tu propiedad en chile ... independientemente de lo que escojas" (Those are the documents that belong to your property in Chile ... doesn't matter what you choose to do) Amado responded only bringing more confusion to the girl on the other side of the line
