Nora POV
I'm in the office of the cafe when my phone rings. I pick it up without noticing who's calling.
"Nora!" Gigi comes out.
I laugh at her enthusiasm and I don't even know what's going on.
"Yes?"
"I need help, there's an emergency." I frown, "What happened?"
"Sebastian told me this morning that his parents want to have dinner with me. Tonight." I scoff, "Oh that's not too bad."
"No, you don't understand. Sebastian father is fucking terrifying, and I know he doesn't like me. I have to impress him tonight. This is defcon 1."
"Okay, what do you need?" This isn't really a big deal, but sometimes it's better to just indulge her.
"I need you to come to the mall with me after your shift and help me pick an outfit out. Nothing I have will work."
I roll my eyes, "Gigi, your closet is bigger than my apartment. I'm sure you have something."
"Please! You have to help me. I'll pick you up at the cafe in like an hour?"
Luckily, Nikolas already canceled our session today because he's meeting with the board of the nightclub company, so I'm free.
"Okay sure."
An hour on the dot later I hear a car pull up blasting Lady Gaga. Georgia looks at me in amusement and says, "Looks like that's your ride."
"Guess so. Do you need anything else?"
"No, go have fun honey." She says with a smile.
I get in and Gigi greets me with a smile.
"Okay so hopefully we'll be done by 7 because dinner starts at 8:30." She says.
"7? It's 3 right now." I exclaim. I was not expecting to be there more than an hour.
"Honey, you know me. I'm indecisive." I take a deep breath bracing myself for the next few hours of my life.
We get there and she immediately drags me to the Dior store. The dresses are long and elegant. A couple catch my eye, but the price tags are more expensive than 3 months of my rent. Gigi picks out a few and heads to the dressing room. She walks out in a dark blue gown that looks gorgeous on her.
"Wow," I say, "You look beautiful". She smiles at me, "Thanks. But is it right?" I have no idea what she means by that so I just nod.
"Eh, let me try the others." This process repeats for the next 30 minutes, and the only thing making it bearable is the drinks that the employees keep giving me. Thankfully, they're nonalcoholic otherwise I would have been absolutely gone.
After a while, Gigi decides she doesn't like any of them and we leave the store. Next up is Prada. We go through the same motions for a bit before she says, "Do you want anything?"
"Me? Like I could afford anything here."
She rolls her eyes, "Obviously I would get it for you. And don't even think about paying me back. Think of it as a gift."
"No, I couldn't."
"But you could. C'mon just try some." She keeps insisting until I cave. Just to try, not to buy. I pick up a long, dark green full sleeve dress with lace embroidery on the chest. I put it on and walk out to the mirrors.
"Oh my god, you look amazing." Gigi exclaims. The dark green brings out my eyes, and I have to admit, I feel beautiful.
"Twirl!" She says. I roll my eyes, but nevertheless spin. She excitedly claps her hands and says, "Oh my you are getting it."
