Nikolas POV

After a few seconds Katerina pulls away in shock, "Nikolas what are you doing?" She sits back from me and looks at me. "What do you mean?" I respond, utterly confused.

She sighs and gets up from the couch, "Listen, I know you don't want to be in this position, and frankly neither do I. I only agreed to it because my father forced my hand. He said he would take me out of his will if I didn't comply." Katerina's confession makes me see her in a different way, more human almost. She continues before I can respond, "I know that you were dating someone else before me, and I know how much you care about her. So I don't think it's a good idea for us to do anything when clearly you still love her." I sit on the couch in silence for a second to understand what's going on.

"Wow, uh to be completely honest I didn't think this is how the trip was going to go, but you're right. I shouldn't have done that." She nods, "I know I came off as a bitch at the beginning, but I was just really upset about having to do this, so I was trying to make it more bearable."

"I see that now." I laugh, a little embarrassed.

"So anyway, I think it's best if we end this," she says, " I'll talk to my dad and make sure it doesn't harm your business."

"But what about his will?" She rolls her eyes, "Don't worry about that. It's time I make my own path anyway."

Katerina gives me a smile and I get up to give her a hug. "Maybe we can stay friends?" She jokes. "Of course". I ruffle her hair.

"So what do we do now?" I ask her. "We should just go to dinner and then get back on the plane. I can call the pilot to have the plane ready for us in an hour."

I nod, "Thank you for doing this." She just gives me a small smile and we leave the room.

Nora POV

The next morning at the cafe, Georgia notices something is off. "What's going on sweetie?"

"Oh nothing, I'm just tired is all." She doesn't believe me for a second, "This is about Nikolas isn't it?" I look at her with widened eyes.

"Oh please, I know heartbreak when I see it. Tell me what's going on." So I tell her everything, every detail about Nikolas and Katerina and how our relationship has been going.

"Well, I know people have told you this before but breaking up with him was not the answer." She laughs. I sigh and put my head in my hands, "I know, I just thought it was. Seeing my mom like that really did something to me." She takes my hands down and holds them in hers, "I know how you must have felt, but he's willing to be there for you, and not many boys at that age are that mature, so if I were you, I would take advantage of that. He loves you." I give her a small smile and she asks, "What do you want to do?"

"I want to get back together, but I'm worried that he won't take me back. I mean he's given me so many chances that I shot down that it might be too much for him."

"It might take some time, but he will take you back. Both of you love each other too much for it not to work out."

Later that day, I walk into Gigi's apartment to see it full of boxes since she started packing. "Hey, what's up? You look like you're on a mission." She says when she sees me. I laugh, "Because I am. Can you drive me to Nikolas' place?" The words come out nervously, but Gigi gives me a knowing smile and grabs her keys, "Yeah let's go."

20 minutes later we're parked outside his building and my hands are sweating. "Hey, you're going to be fine." I nod my head. I called my mom on the way here and told what I was doing. To say that she was relieved and happy would be an understatement. "I know. I'm just nervous I guess."
