------------------chapter 12-----------------------

*Katy POV*

If I say that I had woken up this early at any point of my life except today, then that would have been published as the biggest joke of the millennia! It was the first time that I was wake, laying on my bed with eyes wide open at six in the morning. In fact I don't think I had slept all night due to this bubbling excitement in me. I couldn't wait for today to start, for today's the day when we visit the 'McAdams Empire'. And since the time I had seen Mr. McAdams' house, I was dying to see the office, the office belonging to the richest man in Asia.

I looked at the clock for nth time only to see that just two minutes had passed by since last I checked the time. Every second looked like a century and time doesn't seem to pass at all. Feeling utterly bored, I got up from the bed and made my way out to the living room where Zoey was glued to the television watching 'white collar'. Guess she was experiencing the same thing as me, lack of sleep. Taylor and Angeline were still asleep, lucky them.

I walked into the kitchen grabbing a granola bar before making my way to the sofa. And that was when my fate decided to play with me. We heard the ringing of a phone and exchanged looks before Zoey muted the television. None of us had that ring tone, so whose phone was ringing? We got up moving in the direction of the sound. Only to find that it was coming from our room. Furrowing our eyebrows, we searched for the source.

"Katy!" Zoey exclaimed making me run to her. My eyes widened looking at the thing.

THE phone rang! That stupid, display-less phone gifted by that crazy-Mr.-psycho-X, rang!

Zoey looked at me vigilantly as she still didn't trust this Mr. X, well none of us did. Hesitantly I picked up the phone, "hello."

"'morning, love," his voice boomed through the other end.

"for Pete's sake don't call me that!"

He just chuckled as he continued, "get ready. And wear the gift I gave you. There is a cab waiting for you outside. Don't forget to take this phone with you. And quickly love, you don't want to keep me waiting. And if I have to wait, so will your things."

I was left speechless as my heart drummed away like a drummer. I swear I even heard him smirking on the other side of the phone before he hung the call. I couldn't help but groan in annoyance when I recovered from the initial shock. What in the hell does he want from me? Why me, out of the entire female population? For god sake, I was here for my cousin's assistance and not for his stupid games!

"what did he tell?" Zoey asked.

I walked up to our room and started getting ready as instructed after narrating her the part that she missed out. I got into that stupid suit of his and pulled my hair into a messy bun. I walked out of the house in my black vans, holding the phone in my hand. Zoey stood by the door with anxiety clear in her features.

Sitting on the backseat of the car I noticed that the driver was an aged Malaysian man in his late fifties. He was singing a Malaysian song.

"excuse me," I called out to him.

"gud day, gud day," he replied with his wrinkly smile.

"where are you going to take me?" I asked him after greeting him back.

"take mall, big mall!" he said before adding, "yu Malaysian no? I English no."

"no, I am not Malaysian," I giggled a bit.
