*Katy POV*
"Katy! Why the hell are you running? And why had the cops come here? What the hell is going on?" Taylor was almost shouting from behind trying his level best to catch up with me with his brisk walking.
"Cops? I didn't see any cops. Oh! Had they visited us? I didn't notice," I gulped.
"They didn't visit us, but were getting out of the building grumbling about some stupid lady filing scandalous complaint."
Oh boy! That was close else by now I would have been in the column 'joke of the year'.
"Is this the building sheltering Starbucks?" I asked trying to change the topic.
Ty chuckled, "sheltering Starbucks? Haha... You have a unique way of putting things Katy but yeah, this is the building sheltering your Starbucks."
I laughed nervously along with him, "you bet I have."
I was lost in my own thoughts while Ty was blabbering about something. Had I really made such a stupid bold move without thinking about consequences? What had I been thinking?
"I was so close to peeing my pants but I thank the almighty for keeping his attention at you all the time," Ty chuckled nervously.
Why would a billionaire want to steal from us and blackmail me? As if Neil doesn't have anything better than that.
"Oh crap! Why the hell did I just blurt that out? Sorry for my language Katy. Right now, I don't feel very gentlemanly. I am a nervous wreck still recovering from that blow..." He trailed off.
I just hummed in response.
I had to tell about the events that took place and the information I unveiled about Mr. X or more appropriately Ian Hunter to Angeline and Zoey.
"You know I'm so nervous that I'm blabbering like loon and was shaking like a leaf right before the head of my department but he was so lost in his own world to notice any of it."
But I must make sure that Ty should not be there to witness that particular chat.
"And I guess, so are you," his tone brought me back to present.
"Uhh.. Sorry, I was a bit lost," I flushed embarrassed.
"Yeah, please, continue with you being lost, no problem at all," he smirked looking front and it immediately clicked in my mind what he might be thinking. Only one thing 'I drooling over Mr. Neil McAdams in my head'.
"I wasn't thinking about him!" I exclaimed, wide eyed as I stopped to look at him.
He stopped beside me with an amused expression, "I didn't even say anything. You are the one implying, confirming my assumption."
My jaw had hit the floor as I realized how right he was. Why the hell did I tell something like that? Quickly composing myself, I followed him into the almost crowded lift.
"Well don't worry, I can understand when the guy is someone like my boss with all that charm and success, I can understand Katy. I really do," he smiled teasingly.
"Breathe Katy, breathe. You don't want to get hanged for killing an insufferable excuse of a human," I muttered to myself to calm down my raging nerves.
"What was that?" He asked amused.
"Nothing, I'm just trying to recall all the way to torture a person to death without getting caught," I gave him a sickly sweet smile making him chuckle loudly and earning a few glares.
"Now I see that it runs in your family," he shook his head smiling. The bling sound of the elevator snapped us out of our trance. Getting out of the elevator, I briskly walked towards the café. Soon a giggling Zoey and a dramatic Angeline were in sight. As if sensing our presence both of them turned to look in our direction and I took this chance to signal Angeline with my expression and eyes to send Ty away for a while.
