Charles POV
He sat down with a poker face so good that many couldn't read the facts hidden behind it. But not me, though, he was an excellent actor and hid his emotions so effortlessly. I could see the disappointment evident in his eyes, but he continued to behave as if nothing had happened. I knew how emotionally strong he was but I also knew that this was something he couldn't bear or hide.
"Sup, bro?" I casually asked him trying to lighten up his mood. I hoped that this dissolved the vibe I was giving off that I knew something was up with him.
He didn't look up to meet my worried eyes. He just sighed loudly, clearly letting out his frustration. "She failed terribly. She failed me and my faith in her," he spoke in a distinct voice.
"You knew that she wouldn't keep up with your test. She was obviously a whore! And you knew it already," I reminded him the words that he had told me at the beginning of this as I added, "true love is just imagination. You don't get to find an imaginary thing. It's better if you just choose one of the girls that your parents select for you and marry her. If you continue to keep testing girls like this, you will never get settled in your life, ever."
"You know, for once, I thought that she would pass it...I had started to believe--" he shook his head as he cut himself off in the middle and sigh again before continuing, "I guess you are right," his voice had a hint of sadness laced in it.
I sighed feeling bad for him and sat beside him placing my hand on his shoulder, "Bro, take your time to think it through. You don't want to make a wrong decision and regret it later."
"Charles, I think I should give it one last try before completely giving up. This time, I won't choose some stupid bimbo with a swimming pool of money. For this one last try, I will listen to my heart and choose someone randomly without seeing her background or the financial support she has. I will give my faith one last try," he spoke, lost deep in his thoughts.
"My prayers and I are always with you and I truly hope that you find the girl you deserve. Your dream girl," I said from the bottom of my heart. I really hope that he finds her. He didn't deserve to be left in the middle of nowhere.
