{~A few weeks later~}
Lottie's POV
The RV and car driving down a road. While birds chirp and the sounds of Daryl's motorcycle is heard from outside.
I'm officially five months now and showing more and more each day. I've taken to stealing my dad's and Daryl's shirts to wear as I've outgrown mine.
It's been a few weeks since the CDC, and in order to save on gas we left Shane and Daryl's vehicles behind. Shane rode in the R.V. with T-Dog, Green, Dale, and Andrea while Daryl rode on his motorcycle. I got stuck riding with Lori because dad and Daryl refused to let me on the motorcycle for 'safety' reasons.
Even though they both know that Daryl would never let anything happen to me.
And I couldn't ride in the R.V. because Carl begged me to ride with him....and I can't say no to him.
Lori's been quiet and distant though, it's odd but I swear she's been more secretive and wearing baggier. Plus I've caught her vomiting a few times and stealing my anti-nausea.
Now most would suspect that she's pregnant, but I refuse to believe that Lori isn't that stupid as to get pregnant in the middle of the apocalypse.....
Right?
There's no way to tell right now anyway, Lori's body is weird. She doesn't show until she's 7-8 months then she blows up like a balloon. It's what she did with me and Carl. She also has something wrong with her that prevents her from delivering vaginally, and she would have to do a c-section.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Lori suddenly hums and says " I was just thinking about our trip to the Grand Canyon with Carl" making dad laugh "I don't remember that" Carl says "No, you wouldn't. You were just a baby. And besides, we never made it past Fort Worth" Lori says "No, you got sick. I never knew a baby could throw up so much" dad adds making me scrunch up my nose at the memory "Ick" Carl mutters scrunching up his nose as well.
"Yeah, ick. The doctor in Texas said you'd live. Then we turned and drove home" I told him as I ran my fingers through his hair "That sucks" Carl comments "No, it was a good trip" I told him making dad look through the rear view mirror and agree "The best."
I looked up and smiled at him as well "Can we go see it? The Grand Canyon? I'd like to" Carl asks "I would too. Can we go?" Sophia adds "We'd never go without you or your mom. That's a promise" my dad says making me reach over and gently pet her head before cupping her cheek and leaning over to give her a sisterly peck on the head.
Carol smiles at me and reaches over to grasp my hand in hers. A silent 'thank you' between us. To be honest.... Carol has become a maternal figure in my life since this all started. She's the first mother that I've ever had.
I just wish that I didn't have to wait almost 17 years to meet her.
We look up ahead as Daryl, who was leading the caravan, turns around and talks to dad "Can we get through here?" Dad asks and Daryl shakes his head "Not unless we go on foot" just as a loud noise comes from the RV causing said vehicle to come to a stop. We all climb out to investigate and hear Dale say "I said it. Didn't I say it? A thousand times dead in the water."
