Violet had her head buried in a project in the lab, wiring an entire leg for one of her patients, Mary Foreman. She quickly became her favorite patient, she was so sweet. Every appointment she came to, she brought coffee for Violet. She even called ahead of time to ask how Violet liked it.
"Knock knock." Violet heard someone say softly, she picked her head up to see Wanda standing in the doorway to her office.
"Come on in." Violet said warmly, she sat the leg aside and gave Wanda her full attention. Wanda came into the lab, leaning on Violet's desk and crossing her arms, offering a warm smile. "I was coming to see if you wanted to go shopping with Nat and I, we need new swimsuits for Steve's party." Wanda said warmly.
Everything about Wanda was comforting, but Violet felt uneasy going out of the compound without one of the guys. Afraid of bumping into Taylor or John. "I'm okay, I already have one.." Violet lied timidly.
Wanda let out a quiet sigh. "Honey, you know I can hear your thoughts, right?" She asked. Violet looked at her nervously. "You can?" She asked.
Wanda took Violet's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Yes, dear." She admitted.
"...How much do you know?" Violet asked nervously. She stared down at her hands in her lap.
"Everything. Including Matt." Wanda admitted. Violet shot her head up, looking at Wanda panicked. "I'd never tell a soul. You're right not to tell the team about Matt or Taylor.." Wanda said calmly.
"Thank you. I'd just prefer to go with Buck, we've already ran into Taylor and John before. I'm still working on going out without him or Steve.." Violet admitted timidly.
"Nat and I can protect you as well." Wanda promised. But she knew that anything she said wouldn't matter, Violet dealt with enough over her life to somehow not trust men but at the same time to only trust men. Taylor, John and her father broke her. But Matt and the men on the team were all she trusted for a long time. Despite men being what she feared the most, Matt was who she trusted the most. Wanda understood, she knew it would be a long time before she was comfortable without the guys.
"Can we compromise? You, Nat, Steve and I will go?" Wanda asked sweetly. "I would offer James, but then we'd be the third wheel..." She said with a chuckle.
"Uh, sure. Only if he's okay with it." Violet said shyly. She did want to make friends with Nat and Wanda, so badly. She didn't want them to think her hesitation was about them, it was about herself. But Steve and Bucky made her feel safe, so as long as one of them was with her she was content.
"How about you go get ready and I'll ask Steve? But he'd never tell you no." Wanda offered. Violet nodded happily, taking off towards the elevator.
Wanda headed for the gym, knowing the guys were all training. She made her way straight to the ring to Steve and Bucky as they fought. "Hey, Steve?" Wanda said kindly.
"Whats up?" Steve asked, still focusing primarily on his training with Bucky.
"Would you go with Nat and I to pick out bikinis for your party?" She asked. Steve stopped for only a second, raising an eyebrow at her before returning his focus to Bucky. "I think you can handle it." He said with a dry laugh.
"Oh, sorry. I meant Nat, Violet and I." She corrected with a smile. She laughed quietly as both the men stopped sparring to stare at her.
"Nat and I want a girls day with Violet, she won't go without one of you two so I asked if we could take you. I'll just tell her you said no." Wanda said, turning around to leave.
"I'll go, when are we leaving?" Steve asked. Wanda spun back around, smiling victoriously. "As soon as Violet is dressed." She said, happily skipping off. She knew Steve wouldn't deny any request that involved Violet.
