Friday morning Brandon and Crys woke up excited for the end of the day. That night they would be going down to the beach house that Crys' parents had bought and they would have a relaxing weekend at the beach. The two friends met up on the way to school as usual and both eagerly talked about their trip until they arrived at school. At school, they made their way to their first class with a mixture of excitement and impatience. Neither of them could focus in class. The only thing they could hear was the sound of the clock ticking with every second that passed. Class felt like it went on forever, but eventually after a lot of impatience, class was over. Then the next class began, and the cycle continued until finally with much joy, the school day was over. Crys and Brandon ran to their respective homes with eagerness to quickly pack their things for the trip, and then Brandon and his family met up with Crys and her family before they all hit the road. Brandon was in his car waiting for his parents to stop talking with Crys' parent's so they could get their 8 hour trip over with.
Crys went over to the parents with some level of impatience. "Mom, can we go now?" Crys said, annoyed.
"We'll leave in a minute." Crys' mom said.
"Would it be okay if I went with Brandon?" Crys asked.
"If it's okay with his parents." Crys' mom said.
"Fine with me." Brandon's mom said.
Crys then walked over to Brandon's car and hopped into the back seat next to Brandon. "Figured I'd join you for the car ride." Crys said flatly. "That is, if our parents ever stop talking to each other."
"We're not going to arrive there until like three in the morning at this rate." Brandon said, impatiently.
The two of them waited in the back of the car for at least another ten minutes before Brandon's parents got in the car and everyone began their trip down to the beach.
The ride down was peaceful. Bar a few stops to get food or stretch, most of the trip was silently relaxing while waiting to arrive at the destination. Brandon was playing on one of his video game devices while Crys listened to music with her eyes shut. A few hours into the trip, Brandon looked out the window. It was night. The sky was pitch black. The only light was that of the other cars driving at this hour and the light from the consoles within the car itself. Brandon sighed and placed his arm on the armrest in the center of the back seat of the car. Only a moment later he felt a weight now on his arm. He glanced over to see Crys leaning her head on his arm. Her eyes were shut and her face was peaceful. Brandon could only assume that she had fallen asleep and her head happened to fall into place. *Guess I shouldn't move my arm.* Brandon thought to himself. He smiled a little and then looked back out the window.
Crys smiled too. She wasn't asleep like Brandon thought. She knew exactly what she was doing when she put her head on his arm.
An unknown amount of time later, Brandon felt someone shake his shoulder and he slowly woke up. The car wasn't moving anymore. Brandon looked over to see Crys also waking up. *Must've fallen asleep.* Brandon thought.
Everyone got out of the car, grabbed their bags from the trunk, and made their way into the house. Nobody took time to look around. Instead, everyone tiredly shuffled their way to their rooms and fell asleep almost immediately.
