The next day at school, Brandon and Crys didn't fully pay attention throughout most of their morning classes. Both of their minds were preoccupied with trying to figure out what the logo from last night was. At lunch, Crys pulled out a sheet of paper from one of her notebooks and jotted down the logo from memory.

"You've been trying to figure it out too, haven't you?" Brandon said as he got out his lunch, his voice filled with disappointment.

"I know this." Crys said, frustrated. She tapped her pencil against the lunch table as she tried to figure things out. "I've seen this logo before, I know it." Crys' face twitched as the frustration built. Looking at the logo gave Crys a sense of familiarity, like she had seen it a hundred times before, but she just couldn't remember where she knew it from.

"Just give it a break, Crys." Brandon said, sounding like he had already given up. "I mean, really. I don't think that it's that important. Is it?"

Crys briefly glared at Brandon with a look that was full of intensity.

"Okay, okay." Brandon said, backing off.

Tomas then strolled up to the lunch table with a lunch tray in hand. "Mind if I join you two?" He said, sounding a bit frustrated himself.

"Of course." Brandon said. "You know you're always welcome to sit with us, right?"

"Yeah, just wanted to ask anyway." Tomas responded, glumly taking a seat next to Brandon.

"So why are you sitting with us today? Something going on with the popular kids again?" Brandon asked, picking up on Tomas' tone.

Tomas groaned. "Don't get me started." He said. "Some breakup or something between one of the other popular kids and their girlfriend of something. Anytime something like that happens it's just endless drama for the next week or so, and I really don't feel like getting roped into another person's breakup again."

"Got it." Brandon responded while nodding. "Feel free to just hang out with us then."

"Believe me, I will." Tomas said in a dead serious tone. Tomas glanced over at Crys, who was still intently focused on the logo. "What's up with her?" Tomas asked Brandon in a much looser tone.

"I'm trying to figure out where I've seen this stupid logo before." Crys said in a grumpy kind of voice. She then turned her paper around and showed Tomas the logo for a moment before taking back the paper.

"The Techno Corp. logo?" Tomas said, a little concerned that Crys didn't recognize it. "The one that's probably on the back of your phone?"

Crys then looked up with a deadpan expression on her face and took a deep breath as she felt an immense feeling of stupidity fall upon her. "Yep." Crys said between gritted teeth. "That's the one."

"Well, I feel kinda stupid now." Brandon said, sharing in Crys' feelings.

"I'm surprised you didn't recognize it." Tomas said in slight surprise and concern. "I mean, Techno Corp. makes so many different things, and the main building is that huge, tower in the center of town with the gothic style. How did you manage to forget what their logo looks like?"

"Because I'm an idiot sometimes." Crys said, now just frustrated at herself.

"I don't think I could ever forget that logo." Tomas said. He looked off to the side for a second, zoning out ever so briefly before snapping back to life with a grunt. "Hate that company." Tomas muttered to himself.
