Chapter 2: First Fight, Memories of the past

I've been walking for what felt like for ages, when it's only been 40 minutes. As I continued to navigate through the trees with SAI's help, I've noticed something odd about me.

I'm honestly not that fit, because I don't get out much, the most that I can do is 30-35 minutes of Walking before needing a break. And yet, I haven't felt like I need a break at all. I then remembered a section of the video that SAI showed me before.
"We also e--h--ce your P-----------"
I couldn't make out the last distorted word in that sentence, but the first one sounded like "enhance".
Did they do something else to me besides the chip implant and shoving me into a stasis pod?
I then reached out to SAI in my mind, which I discovered that we can do without me talking. Pretty convenient.
Me: (hey, SAI)
SAI: Yeah?
Me: (you know how unfit I am, right?)
SAI: yeah, because you've been playing games All the time.
Me: (I can't help it, I love em, and you should know that! Anyway, I've noticed that I'm not feeling tired at all, despite how unfit I am. Then I remembered that video mentioning something about "Enhance" if I'm guessing correctly.)
I then stopped at a clearing. And turned to SAI
Me: Be straight with me, what've they done to me?
SAI then looks away from me nervously, but then turns back towards me.
SAI: The truth is--
He stopped abruptly as shocked was spread across his face as he was staring behind me.
I noticed that something appeared on the map in my vision. A red dot.
I felt a chill down my spine as I quickly turned around, and realized that I wasn't alone.
A black, thin, Stickman like entity with no facial features was standing just 25 feet from me. It's taller than me, probably about a half of my own height measurements. One of it's arms was sharp and curved like a sword.
And it was slowly coming towards me.
I've felt like I've seen something like this before, but I had no time to think about it as the being lunged at me with a stab.

Me: Oh Shit!
I managed to jump to the right just in time as the blade would've pierced the right side of my stomach. But not quick enough as it managed to scratch my arm.
SAI: Myles! careful!
I managed to get some distance from the thing, My body and mind were on full alert. the Thing just turned and started to walk towards me again.
I couldn't shake the feeling that I've seen something like this before.
But Where?
When?

That's when I heard the sound of glass shattering, and a few brief flashes of images came to my mind.
One of them, showed one of those things stabbing a human, and from the wound came the black veins and discoloration, The same as the doctor in the video. Another one showed me holding some sort of light blue weapon, coming out of one of the bracelet.
... Wait.
Out of the bracelet?
that's when the bracelet on my Right wrist started to glow a faint light blue, as if it heard and responded to my thought.
The black entity jumped towards me with a jump slash, and everything seemed to slow down.
I had no idea what I was doing, but I felt calm as I sidestepped to the right. The black, ominous blade missed me by a few inches. I then felt something touch my hand. It was Light, warm, and slightly rectangular.
I immediately knew what to do next.
I then spun around and swung my Arm at the Attacker.
SLASH
There was a sound as if a sharp blade has cutted flesh. I then got some distance again, and turned to the thing. There's now a light blue slash mark, and the Entity seems to be stunned, for it wasn't moving. I then took the time to look at the object that I apparently grabbed out of thin air.

It was a weapon!
A Straight Short sword with a singular edge that then took a diagonal turn to the other side, like a mini katana. Along the backside was a long tube of some kind. And there was a trigger on the handle.
Like a Sword and a Gun, All in one.
But it wasn't made out of Metal.
The light blue lines of light shaping the weapon told me that it was holographic, but I can touch it as if it were a solid. And now that I think about it, I think this came out of the Bracelet.
I was amazed by not how light it was and how easy it was to swing. But also the beauty.
It was the most Coolest thing I've ever seen since I woke up! It looked like it came out from a video game!

Me: whoa

SAI: well, guess I didn't even need to explain how you use the H.W.B.

Me: "H.W.B"?

SAI: "Holo Weapon Bracelets", the government decided to give you those to defend yourself against any Voiders that might've survived to this day. They also enhanced your own physical body.

Me: "Voiders"? You mean this THING?

I pointed to the black stickman like "Voider" who was slowly getting up.

SAI: Yep. I'll explain everything else later. but for right now, You need to either fight or run.
I'll display your vital signs and watch it for you.

with a flick of his finger, a green, horizontal line appeared at the top left of my vision, like a HP bar from a video game.
All of this seemed like a story straight out of a RPG. But I know that this is real. If I die, that'll probably be it. No respawn.
I just stood there as I watched the Voider get up and lumber towards me.
the Voider let out a ominous, garbled sound. And from the ground came more of these "Voiders", about 5 of them, but they were about my height, and two of them had different arms than the rest. They were a little fatter and cylindrical.
It called reinforcements huh...

Me: Alright then...

I decided. The government gave me these "HWB"s, and did something to my body that increased my physical strength, might as well put them to good use and survive.

Me: Let's Play

The nearest Voider went in to stabbed at me, but I sidestepped and pushed it away with the Holo Weapon in my hand, and chopped it's head clean off with a Slash
It then disappeared into a black mist.
Resulting in its death.

the Two Voiders with the barrels for arms pointed said barrels at me and some black, inky goo shot out of them.
I quickly rolled to the side, the goo just missing me. I then pointed my Blade-gun at the left one, and pulled the trigger a few times.
As expected holographic bullets were fired and hit their target, resulting in the same mist like death of the Voider.
There was no recoil so it was easy to keep my aim still.
I did the same thing at the other one.
So, the one's with the thicker arms can be considered as ranged, while the sharper arms are considered as Melee.
The last three melee ones, including the big one lunged at me all at once, and I jumped backwards to the left to avoid the big blade as it came crashing down, moments later from where I was. at that point, it felt as if everything started to slow down. I've felt the same thing happening from before I activated my Bracelets.
It felt like one of those game mechanics where when the player successfully dodged an attack at the last moment, time will slow down, and the player can counterattack.
I wasn't going to let a chance like this go to waste, and I began slashing and firing shots at the three slow moving Voiders, then everything returned to normal.
It took a moment, but the remaining ones disappeared into a black mist.
I then took a moment to process what just happened. I did it.
Me: that was... Awesome-- NNGH!!
I didn't have time to finish my sentence as a huge wave of pain formed in my head, and I collapsed from it. My ears were ringing, and I could barely hear SAI's voice in my head. more flashes of images came to my mind, I didn't know what they were, but I could tell that they were memories, really, really unpleasant ones.
before I blacked out, I saw a figure running towards me from the other side of the clearing. I could barely hear them as I fell into unconsciousness.
