Chapter 19: Planning the next step

I got back home later than usual. I know that I'll probably be questioned about where I was as I walked in the front door.

Me: I'm back.

Light pokes his head out from the living room.

Light: Ah, welcome ho-- what the hell happened to you?!

He then rushed over to me to check the scratch on my cheek

Me: I... Need to discuss and Show you something.

Daniel: Why do I hear some seriousness in your tone? Holy crap you look like shit.

I wasn't expecting Daniel to stop by, but never the less, I told them what happened, and explained how there was a rift on the day humanity started to die. I also showed them the memories, but left the parts involving the data out. and they watched in horror at the sorry state the Doctor was in.

Light: so... That's doctor Styles... and Those were the symptoms of the black virus.

Daniel: I'm so glad that I didn't turned out like that.

Light: so... He's not there anymore, Right?

I didn't speak, but I started to cry. For the first time in a thousand years.
But that alone was enough to answer Light's question, making him come over to me and Embrace me.

Daniel: I should get going now, I'll come over to check or keep a eye on you tomorrow.

I simply nodded as Daniel excuses himself from the house. When he was out, I finally spoke in a quivering voice.

Me: do you think... I did the right thing?

Light: He lived for a thousand years, in pain. I think you saved him from that. In any case, he's Right. Your home is with us now.

Me: ... Yeah.

Light: can I see that "Starnite", the one the Doctor had?

I pulled out the Starnite from my pocket, it gave off a warm Shine from my hands.

Light: I knew it. That's the same effect as the Light crystals we use to light the city, when we charge it with electricity.

Me: Yeah, I came to that realization as I was walking home. No wonder the Voiders stay in the dark alleyways.

We sat there in silence as we watch the glow, then I put it back in my pocket.
Light suddenly grabs my face with his soft paws and forced me to look at him. Annoyance and anger could be seen from his eyes.

Light: I know that I can't stop you from trying to find the other 4 VoidRifts, and try to close them. But The next time you plan on facing one of those Abyssalers, you CONTACT us, WAIT for us, And LET US SUPPORT YOU. Do you understand?

I've definitely made him mad. Honestly I don't want to drag him into this, but I WAS having a bit of trouble with the 4 armed one, I'll probably need someone to watch my back.

Me: ... yesh. Promise.

Light's expression then softens and his frown turned into a loving smile.

Light: Good boy.

I blush at the remark as he starts to squish my face. He then told me to eat the food he saved for me and take a shower. I've done those things, but before I was able to go into my room.

Light: Nope~ you're sleeping with me from now on~

Light grabbed me from behind, carried me into his room, and began to cuddle me on his bed. I then began to hold him close to me too.
Guess this is my room now.

The next day, Me, Daniel and SAI took the Rift scan for a spin on top of the same tower I scanned the city to save Light, and got the locations for the rifts. the closest one was East of the city, around 400 miles.

Daniel: That's around where FurCos city is.

Me: "FurCos"?

Daniel: Yes, that's where our Sister Faction, YellowDelta is. We sometimes get requests from them too, and send teams there for support. The same goes for them to us.

Me: just to be clear, Are there any other factions like BlueLight and YellowDelta?

Daniel: 6 in total. There's PurpleNight, who's in FurXia, GreenCondor in Heltifur, RedAlpha in Furcago, And WhiteNova in NovaFur.

Me: Wait wait wait "FURCAGO"???

Daniel: yeah...?

Me: oh my Lord it almost sounds like Chicago. Which was a human City back then by the way.

Daniel: Wow, Coincidence much?

SAI, Daniel and I laughed.

Daniel: Anyway, I'll contact Leader and see if he can get in contact with YellowDelta's Leader.

Me: Alright.

I waited as Daniel reported, Wondering about What the other cities are like, are they also like Neonfur? Are they suffering the same Voider Problem? And what if I have to reveal myself to the other Factions? What would happen? Would I be kept a secret, or would they try to capture me? Either way, I don't want them to meet the same fate that Humanity did.

Daniel: Alright, done. Don't worry about the Voiders today, Agent teams are covering for you, now that we managed to mass produced those straps, and they seemed weakened when that Rift Closed too. C'mon, Let's get you home.

Me: Yeah, thanks.

Daniel: Oh, and by the way...

Daniel then looks at me with a teasing smile.

Daniel: Congratulations on getting "Marked"

I immediately blushed and hit him in the shoulder, while he laughs.

Once Daniel got me back home, I thanked him for today, went inside, and decided to play a game. My phone then buzzed, implying that I've received a text from Light.

Light: "Myles, Daniel got back to me and I've Managed to get in touch with the YellowDelta's Leader, Susan. She said that she's also having the same Voider attacks in the Alleyways, and outside the City. She asked for backup once I mentioned that we have a way of beating them. I'll be going there as well, to back you up. I'll let James handle the leading here. We're going to be setting out tomorrow."

Me: "Okay Thx."

Light: "I already Chose the Perfect Team for us 😉"
