After Omoi forfeit leaving Kankuro to be the winner the preliminary continued, the screen started reading random names again before stopping in two kunoichis, Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka, Hayate invited them down and announced the start of their match.

The two kunoichi start blunting about Sasuke again which seems really boring to the others most especially the Uzumaki twins.

They tied their leaf village badge on their head before going into the fight, after a long time of throwing punches and kicks at each other they were now breathing uncontrollable, Ashura then started cheering Ino who he was now having a huge crush on, he seems to dislike Sakura because of her wide forehead and green eyes, green was the color he hate the most.

Naruto got angry cuz of this and started cheering Sakura, Sakura said some insulting words at Ino concerning her hair, without second thought Ino cut off her ponytail and threw it on the ground between herself and her opponent.

Ashura was quite disappointed by the act of the platinum blonde haired kunoichi, her hair was one of the thing Ashura love about her, Ino made a hand seal and aim it at Sakura, Sakura laugh at her and told her that her soul won't easily return to her body if she misses the jutsu, Ino then said they won't be able to figure that out until she try it.

She perform the jutsu before falling asleep, everyone was now waiting curiously about what was going to happen next, Sakura smirk and then said Ino had missed, with that she walked over to the platinum blonde, on her way to Ino's unconscious body she pause and could not move, Ino didn't perform any jutsu she only faked it and Sakura walk right into her trap.

Sakura was now stock on the chakra thread that was hidden in Ino's hair that was on the floor, Ino then aim a hand seal at Sakura and used the mind transfer jutsu which made her soul to sail right into Sakura's body, she made Sakura to raised her hand up and was about to forfeit but Naruto stop this act by calling out to Sakura telling her she has worked so hard to get here so she has to fight and not lose to Ino.

What Naruto said wake something up in Sakura and she was crushing Ino from inside, this made the Yamanaka girl to flee from the body of the pink haired girl, she could not believe that someone would have two spirit, she was about to forfeit the match but Ashura cheer her up by saying something like Ino was a really strong kunoichi so she shouldn't back down and let some girl with wide forehead get the best of her.

After trying to control their breathing they both attack each other again and deliver a very powerful punch on each other's jaw, after this attack they both pass out leading to both of them falling the match, Asuma and Kakashi went in to get the kunoichis out of the fighting area, later on they both wake up and Ino handed Sakura her head band.

Sakura thought she lost the match to Ino but Ino told her the truth and she breath out in relief, Ino then to her they should continue being best friends but their rivalry should continue and Sakura accepted.

The proctor cough out gaining everyone's attention as the screen started reading again, this time it was Temari versus Tenten, the blonde haired girl in Gaara's team and the brown haired girl in Rock Lee's team.

Hayate announced the start of their match and Tenten leap away from Temari when she pulled out the weapon she was carrying, Temari then ask Tenten to give her best shot and Tenten did so by throwing a few shuriken at Temari, the shuriken misses it target and Tenten gasp in disbelief, this was the very first time she has missed her target.

Lee could not believe his eyes too, Guy was also amazed by this, he knew his student quite well so there must have been something that made her to miss.

Shikamaru then said that the match was over and it was another win for the sand village, Naruto who didn't understand what the pineapple haired boy was talking about decided to ask, Shikamaru said it would be a waste of time to start explaining it to the blond haired boy, Choji then told Naruto that Shikamaru was right.
