It was a sunny morning at Jade Mountain, right after a long night of rain. All the trees were bright green and beautiful, and the LeafWings were tending to the gorgeous lawn and flowers outside.
Flytrap had chosen to grow one flower for each dragon that had died in battle. He was stretching in the sunshine, his green scales glowing brightly. Annelid came jogging outside, it looked like she had finally finished in the sick bay. Flytrap's face lit up.
Palo and Cecropia were birdwatching on top of the mountain. Palo seemed to spot something and nudged Cecropia's shoulder with his wing. She looked up in awe.
Azalea the hybrid was walking in the flowers with Mandarin, her scales shifting to pinks and yellows like the garden around them. Empathy sat in a tree, watching them. She grinned.
Kumquat lay sprawled on a branch next to her, trying to read a copy of the book of Clearsight. Empathy shook her head and corrected him when he said a word wrong.
Sheer was sitting outside, as Drift had made her do so. The IceWing was in the shade, and had coated all the grass around her in frost and covered her body with her wings. Classic Sheer. Drift had a fish in her mouth and was eating it contentedly next to Sheer, wearing all her favorite jewelry.
Junix strode out of the mountain, with something over her shoulders. She blinked tears from her void-black eyes. She set down what she was holding on her shoulders. Sheer quickly ran over and bumped her nose.
It looked sort of like a mummy, with bandage wrapping all around it, slightly blood stained. All the dragonets halted their activities and flew over.
They all knew what it was.
"He's being picked up today by Queen Ruby; the SkyWings have some kind of ritual where they put the corpse on a tall mountain and then burn it so its spirit can ascend or something," Junix told them.
The others nodded and flew back to where they were.
Jade Mountain's landscape had been restored with help of the remaining LeafWings. The grass had been regrown, the smoke had cleared, and the rain had stopped temporarily.
The Queens had all agreed to send out dragons to sweep the coasts and all land for DreamWings, and if they saw one, either capture it or kill it.
And, if another new tribe showed up, the dragons of Pyrrhia knew what to do.
