"Wake up!" Kumquat the RainWing felt someone shaking him and then he heard the clicking and scuttling sounds of Flytrap's leaf pouches.

"YOU DON'T WANT TO PROVE TO ME YOU'RE A LAZY RAINWING, DO YOU?!" the LeafWing shouted, still shaking him. "GET UP!"

Kumquat swatted him with his eyes closed and dug his face deeper into his pillow on the hammock.

"Well, if you won't listen to me, I'm going to go eat all the sugar drops." The green dragon stormed off. The RainWing's eyes flew open. SUGAR DROPS? he thought, jumping out of the hammock and flying out the door.

"Wait!!" He passed Junix and Drift on the way there, both of them giving him weird looks.

The green dragon burst into the Great Hall, leaped at the candy bowl, grabbed it, turned around, and hissed loudly at Kumquat.

"No!!" the RainWing crumpled to the ground and sobbed.

Everyone stared at him. "Um, more sugar drops are over there, dude," said a SandWing, pointing at another candy bowl. Kumquat raced over there and picked up three sugar drops.

"HEY!!" yelled Flytrap.

"Stop fighting over the moons-blasted candy!" Clay bellowed from his rock, spreading his wings in an intimidating manner.

"Yes, Clay," Kumquat and Flytrap sighed.

The cave room became less filled with dragonets after this. Kumquat growled. When is something exciting going to happen? he demanded himself, his wings rippling to a bored orange, walking to his first class of the day, which was music. Maybe that would be fun. His wings changed to an excited yellow.

Each dragonet chose an instrument- Mandarin chose a drum, Palo chose maracas, Drift chose a xylophone, Copper chose a tambourine, Sheer chose a ginormous bass drum, and Kumquat chose a recorder.

When Empathy, Cecropia, Flytrap, and Junix came in, Cecropia and Empathy immediately started dancing. Junix enthusiastically grabbed a banjo and beckoned for Flytrap to play with her. There was boom, boom, shake, shake, whistle, bang, bang, tink, tink. Kumquat's scales changed to an even brighter gold.

The entire room was filled with instrument noises and Empathy and Cecropia dancing together. Everyone was laughing and smiling by the time they finished. Sheer closed her mouth as if she'd been talking. He gave her a curious look and she snarled.

Soon, they were in the Science Classroom. It was a new cave that had been made a few years ago and was accessed by going through Stonemover the NightWing's cave who was now completely turned to stone. Kumquat looked around.

There was no natural light down here. The only light was coming from lanterns with colored, tinted glass, and colorful glowing globes, there were also wooden shelves with books and testing tubes full of bubbling, foaming, or transparent liquids. There was also a rock ledge with reeds and a pillow that was probably for the teacher to sleep on. Behind a desk, stood a young yellow SandWing with a white frill and wings, who appeared to be organizing.

"Is this the Sapphire Winglet?" The dragonets nodded. "Right on time, choose a random desk, and we'll get to it!"

Kumquat chose a desk in the first row third to last from the corner of the room, carefully folding in his obnoxiously big wings.

"So, Mandarin, can you pass out a bowl to each dragon please?" The MudWing nodded and picked up the stack of bowls at Marigold's desk. Mandarin walked around and passed them out.

Marigold picked up ten test tubes, each the same color, they were green and foaming. Kumquat noticed that there was a small scorch mark at the bottom of each, then noticed that the bowls were made of one of the hardest metals in the continents. Why did they need that?
