Only the sounds of the kitchen utensils are echoing all over the kitchen. It was 5 in the morning and Ten decided to make himself useful. While the whole house is still quiet, Ten was silently preparing everyone's breakfast, including the devil himself.
While doing his work silently, his arms unintentionally pushed the used glass a bit too hard. Panic began to swallow him whole when he heard it touch the floor and shatter into pieces. "Shit shit shit shit!" Ten kneeled down, attempting to pick up the pieces with his bare hands. His fingers started to let out small drops of blood, causing more mess on the floor.
"Hello?" A faint voice echoed, making Ten's eyes water in panic and fear. "Cherrie? Perrie? Are you guys up?" Kun's voice began to grow louder, and it caused Ten's hands to shake violently. "Oh God, I'm so sorry... I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." He whispered. Kun's eyes immediately landed on Ten's bleeding hands, causing him to panic as well. "Jesus Christ! Ten, what happened?!" Ten didn't look up to see the other's face, he just picked up the bloody pieces with his shaky hands. "I-I'm so sorry! I-I'll pay for it, I promise!"
"Let go of them! You're hurting yourself!" Kun kneeled down to shake Ten's hands off those glass pieces. "Stay there, and don't touch them." Ten did as what he was told, he didn't touch any of the shattered pieces until Kun comes back. Not even a minute later, he came back with a medicine kit in his hand. "Open your hand." Ten silently opened both of his hands.
The two were sitting on the cold floor in silence. Kun was focusing on cleaning Ten's wounds, and Ten still finding the exact words to apologize to Kun. "I'm sorry. I'll pay for it..." Kun then stared at him with his usual, cold eyes, but this time, Ten can see a little bit of softness. "You do have to, it's just a glass. I don't care if you'll break everything here, as long as you are unharmed... You and the kids." Ten didn't say anything, not even looking at Kun in the eyes. "Okay, I'll go cook and you go wake the kids. It's getting pretty late and I know that we all have a busy day right now." Ten nodded before walking away silently. Kun can still his soft sobs. He was confused at why he got overly sensitive just because he broke a cheap glass.

"Hey! You look... Odd today..." Sicheng stared at him as if he just saw a stranger walking in to their office in the most random time. "Did something happen? Is that blood on your sleeve?" Xiaojun leaned closer to make sure he was seeing the right thing. "Ten just had a small accident at home. He's fine now."
"You were worried about him, weren't you?" Kun sighed as he heard that teasing question from Sicheng, again. "Look, I have to make sure he's okay too. I don't wanna make the kids worry about me, or him. I didn't do this on my own will." Kun answered while flipping some pages on his files, as if he was actually reading them. "But you brought him home and made it seem like it was the kids' idea to bring him to your house." Sicheng scoffed. "Again, I have to do all of those things for the kids!"
"Whatever makes you sleep at night, my guy." Xiaojun let out a soft laugh before picking up the files in front of them. "So, are you letting him stay there for like, forever?" He added.
"If he wants to leave, then I'll be fine. If he wants to stay, then I'll be fine as well, for the kids." Without letting any facial expressions out, Kun simply answered while looking at the papers. "You really don't have to deny everything. It's been years, Kun." Sicheng replied. Those words hitting him repeatedly always just makes Kun sigh in annoyance, but he can't do anything but to either stay silent, or switch to another topic. "It's someone else's case that we're dealing with right now, not mine. So please, stop asking me those silly questions."

"M-Mom, I swear I didn't mean to b-break it..." The young Ten kneeled in front of his mother and the shattered plate on the floor, anxiously picking up the pieces as his hands shook violently. "Those plates were expensive! The guts to break things that you didn't even buy! Do you have the money to buy that?!" His mom harshly picked him up by pulling his right ear, not even caring about his child's painful cries. "You are replacing this plate within a week or I will let your father punish you again!" As he heard that word, his cries grew louder. His dad's punishment is much worse than his mom's, it's like torture especially for a young boy like him. "I'm sorry, mom! I'm sorry!"
"I'm sorry..."
"How's your hand?" Kun's voice made Ten jump in surprise. "How much is the glass?" Ten asked, without even answering Kun's question first. "I already said that you don't have to pay for that. Why are you making that cheap glass a big deal? I can easily replace them, but your safety?"
"I-I just thought that you might beat me up if I broke your things..." Ten answered in a low voice, but loud enough for Kun to hear. "I'm sorry? What did you just say?" Kun tilted his head in confusion, staring at Ten's unusual behavior. He's usually cold towards him, his stares could either burn his soul or burn his patience. "And what makes you think that I'm going to hurt you if you'll break my things? Ten, I hate you, but I won't go that far just to prove my anger towards you."
"You don't understand. This is your house, none of those things were from my money..."
"And I have to hurt you just because of that? Dumbass." Kun replied with his usual tone. It took seconds of silence before Ten walked away from where Kun was. "I'll buy you a whole set tomorrow. I'm sorry for my carelessness earlier." Ten said before leaving Kun confused and speechless. "Damn... Just for a glass?" Kun then stood there in silence, trying to figure out why Ten was acting like that. Not even a minute later, something just popped up on his mind like a firecracker. "Could that behavior be from his last traumas?" He looked up, looking at the stars as if they can solve his confusions.
"Damn, I really have to know him better..."
