Nick stopped speaking as you walked in. Everyone stood with him and turned to see what had caught his attention.
Sitting down and opening the book you found yourself a quiet corner, undisturbed until Nick made his way over to you. "Reading?" He asked. You looked up from your book with a blank face.
"Yes. Clearly." You answered and he nodded. There was an awkward silence as you went back to reading your book and he perched on the end of the long bench you sat on.
"Can I help you?" You asked after ten minutes had passed and he hadn't moved.
"I just urm... I..." He stuttered and glanced at the group he'd been standing with. When he looked over at them they laughed and nudged each other. "My heart skips when I'm with you."
"What?" You said in surprise and closed your book.
"I have been in love with you for so long. When I see you I just...." He trailed off.
"I'm pretty sure this is the third time we've ever spoken. How could you know that you're in love with me?" You asked cautiously and contemplated whacking him with your book when he moved closer and sat next to you.
"I know I am. If I need to prove it to you I will. Just get to know me and you'll know we're meant to be." He insisted. You reluctantly agreed and he smiled, getting up from his seat to go back to his friends.
