University. Your whole academic career has led up to this moment. And finally, today, you will move into your university dormitory and start the college life you dreamed of. What amazing school were you relocating your life to, you ask?
The University of South Park.
Your high school transcript was still impressive, but not enough for those fancy east coast schools. Your budget for school, having avoided a part time job in school to focus on studying, had left you an even smaller pool to choose from. However, to escape community college, a university in the hick town that neighbored your own was your only choice. But with your impressive high school resume you were awarded a full ride, with the guarantee you kept your grades satisfactory.
To your surprise most of the kids you grew up with in North Park had been able to wiggle into some fancy schools, and of course their parents would leave no expense unpaid for their little angels. Even your closest friends promised they'd keep in touch, but the moment it got out you were going to the University of South Park you seemed to be a social outcast all summer.
The only saving grace to the social isolation was the roommate matcher the University had for those staying in the dorms. You gave some likes and dislikes about living with people and then you got to see other girls profiles and you swipe left or right. So half way through the summer when there was a ding on your phone that you had officially matched with your roommate, you immediately got to talking with her.
A girl named Wendy Testaburger became your texting pen pal. She was pretty nice and turns out she knew the two other girls in the second room in your quad, Bebe Stevens and Nichole Daniels. Eventually she created a group chat with the four of you so you could talk about what everyone was bringing so the dorm would have plenty of appliances and decorations.
But today was the day you would finally get to meet them all in person. Your parents had helped you load your car with the few tubs you had of your items you wanted to bring and with a hug and kiss sent you on your way.
The drive to South Park was only about an hour with most kids from North Park driving in any direction but there. Despite the summers rough beginning, knowing you were going to be greeted with a friendly face made the drive much more bearable. It sounds cheesy, but fresh friends, a fresh school, and a completely fresh start sounded so exciting.

It only took about five minutes of wandering around before you found the dorm with number 250, matching the one of the keys you now held in your hand. With most kids only driving fifteen minutes to get there the housing office was pretty empty. You wiped your sweaty palms on your shirt before putting the key into its lock and twisting the knob. Three unfamiliar voices suddenly filled your ears.
The three girls were in the small common area sitting on a small couch they had managed to squeeze in the space. However, at the movement of the door the three fell quiet and all eyes were turned to you. Wiping your hands before had been a pointless act as they became just as wet again.
"y/n! It's so nice to meet you in person!" The black haired girl you had recognized from pictures as Wendy jumped up to give you a hug. The action caught you by surprise but you gave the girl a squeeze back.
"It's nice to finally meet you in person too," You smiled at her and peered around her to see the other girls, "Hey guys!"
They said 'hi' back in unison. Other pleasantries were exchanged as they asked how the drive was and you asked them how they had been settling.
