Later that evening Kyle had managed to calm himself down by watching Terrance and Philip reruns on his laptop, avoiding his to-do list of homework. After all of his emotions finally catching up to him Kyle somehow had slumped over and fallen asleep at his desk.
Stan however did not return right away to his dorm after dinner but instead found himself awkwardly sitting in the girls common room while Wendy convinced y/n to go bring Kyle back his homework for approximately ten minutes.
You, knowing what Wendy and Stan would be up to, agreed to give the pair some privacy and you said you would text Wendy when you were heading back to the dorm. So instead you made your way to the red heads dorm to return the notes you had borrowed.
But with every step you took each and every black and blue spot on your skin became more and more apparent. You had rehearsed about a million times how you were going to tell Kyle the story. The most toned down way possible. If you told Kyle exactly everything, you were scared you would never see him again.
Whether that be because you and Cartman had a picked fight and he would choose his long standing frenemy over you or he would go to jail for also sacking that son of a bitch. But either way you didn't want to not tell him, especially with how glaring the problem was. So with all the courage you could muster you knocked on the boys dorm door.
You were surprised to see a tired Butters open the door.
"You're not Stan," He yawned.
You gave the boy a small smile, "I am not."
"I thought Stan forgot his key again," Butters responded, still half conscious.
"I'm just here to return something to Kyle," You reply, holding up the papers.
"Oh, okay," He held the door open wider, "I think he's in his room, you can knock."
And with that the boy disappeared back into his room and you're assuming crawled back into his bed.
With a small little gulp you knocked on Kyle's door.
Knuckles to wood had started Kyle out of his nap. He groaned and rubbed his neck as the awkward position he had fallen asleep in left him sore. However the intruder outside his door only grew louder and louder. So he slowly got up and opened the door.
"Dude it's barely been a week and you lose your key..." Kyle had started but the intruder outside his door was not his forgetful roommate.
"I didn't think Stan was that much of an airhead," (y/n) giggled. However Kyle did not laugh at her remark. He was more shocked than anything. He would have assumed Stan would have told her about what a loser he was being. But instead the girl was standing right infront of him in his doorway.
(y/n) shifted her weight and outstretched her arms where in her hand were some papers.
"Your notes," she clarified as Kyle still had not said a word, "And can we talk?"
"Uh yeah come in," Kyle finally spoke, grabbing the papers from her and holding the door open. He suddenly felt his ears go pink. "Please ignore the mess."
The tension in the air seemed to lift as the girl giggled once more. However when she passed him Kyle could see the mark more clearly than he ever had and his stomach was tied right back up in knots. But the girl ignored his piercing stare and sat down at Stan's desk chair as Kyle closed the door and sat on his own.
"I assume you know what I want to talk about," She asked him.
Kyle crossed his arms, "You would probably assume right."
Kyle's heart was beating faster, the anticipation was eating him up. Part of him was hoping she was about to tell him about a gnarly fall that had happened. But the secrets and sensitivities around it made him know better.
"You have to promise me one thing first," She said.
Anything he wanted to say. But he nodded.
"You have to promise to not be mad at me."
Kyle's mind had been wiped blank of anything he had been thinking about.
"Why would I be mad at you?"
(y/n)'s cheeks went crimson, "You'll see."
And with that (y/n) went on to tell Kyle everything. The misunderstanding, the annoyances during class to the point she had enough and picked a fight with a kid twice her size. The whole time she told her story she looked anywhere but his face. She was afraid to face him, to tell this boy she had barely known a week but felt like years her shortcomings. This stupid university crush that hated her when she first came she was now terrified of how vulnerable she was being with him. Whatever she was afraid of before was nothing compared to what she was afraid was going on in Kyles mind right now.
Before this week she had not believed in soulmates. But this boy made her believe she had a chance of being loved and cared for unconditionally because of how kind he was. And almost wanted to just ask him out herself.
Yet now she sat, after telling him the whole story, in silence. Through the whole story he had been silent. And now that she had been finished he had been silent. So she faced her greatest fear, and looked up at Kyle Broflovski.
