The evening the whole gang- minus Cartman- decided to go grab dinner in the dining hall. In the time between now and your last meal you had shot Jimmy a few texts asking if you had something wrong. But it was always the same dry answer, 'no just have a lot of homework'. And when asked about his reaction at lunch he just deflected to a different topic. He even avoided saying where everybody else was.

Kyle was quick to reassure you that sometimes Jimmy is just weird. Not that Kyle was jealous that you were so worried about Jimmy. Not at all.

But of course it wasn't that simple. You spotted Jimmy and the rest of his crew in the dining hall too. Your confusion only grew as he seemed perfectly content. A complete opposite sight from lunch. Hurt lept in your throat but you forced your attention to the group you were with.

"Don't worry about it," Kyle said, pulling you from your thoughts, "I'm sure you're just overthinking it." he flashed you a smile.

"I know," You sighed, "Between him and Eric's behavior you would think it's been a full moon all week."

"Maybe it is," Wendy chimed, "I still can't believe Cartman just up and left."

"Good riddance," Kenny grumbled from the other end of the table. Most everyone seems to nod in agreement.

"Still it's weird he left without saying goodbye," Butters mumbled.

"Cartman is weird Butters," Kyle said a little harshly.

"Hey what time is that party," Kenny said, quickly changing the topic.

"Soon, so we better get to eating!" Wendy chirped and the whole table got to eating. Eager to go to their first real college party.

And the party was bouncing. Literally. Bass boosted music seems to just make people want to jump. And it's totally not the effects of intoxication making peoples dancing less elegant.

Hand in hand Kyle and (y/n) followed behind the group as they made their debut into the sea of sweaty college kids.

The actual party was nothing special; beer pong there, keg chugs over there. You honestly weren't sure how stan was still standing at the end of the night (which was really early morning). But with your new found friends and newfound confidence it was a night that would go down in your history book.

Kyle, being the gentleman that he is, walked you to your dorm. Also half to escape a drunk and Stan and tipsy Wendy to B-lined to the bedroom.

You make your way through the front door and lead him through the common room, stopping at your bedroom door.

"This is my stop," You whispered, half awake.

"Choo choo," Kyle whispered back which of course brought the two of you into a fit of giggling. A beat passed in the calm after.

Before you could react Kyle leaned in, planting a sloppy kiss. You giggled and pushed him off jokingly.

"Eww slobber," You mock stuck out your tongue, which only caused Kyle's grin to widen.

"Let me crash here, I'm sure Stand and Wendy won't move when they're done," He said and you opened your room door wider letting him in.

Eventually the two of you lay on your bed, in a sleepy embrace.

"Hey (y/n)?" Kyle whispered into the dark.

"Hmm?" Was all you could give in your tired state.

"I'm happy you won that scholarship over me."

"Me too."
