The Royal dinner was exactly how I predicted it would be. Same as every year. As boring as every year. I didn't talk to anyone except my sister and Daniel, who might I mention, didn't have Kit along with him. He had another guard with him that looked rather nervous.Once I was able to excuse myself and leave, I headed towards the coffee shop Kit said to meet at. I pulled out my black jacket from my bag and put it on as I walked. I remembered to bring it so I wouldn't attract to much attention.
As I got there I looked at the cute shop. White tables and chair placed outside of the shop. The shop light that were hung up, glowed brightly making the giant tulip sign over the door visible.
The bell rung as I walked in. It was easy to find Kit since we were the only people in the place. I walked towards the table he was seated in and sat in the chair across from him.
He looked up from his phone to look at me. "Hey."
"Hi."
Kit pushed a strawberry shortcake towards me. My favorite, how did he know?
"I read on a blog that's what you like, was I wrong?" Kit said as though he could hear my thoughts. Okay maybe instead of being a hacker, he's a mind reader.
I took the fork and took a piece of the cake, popping it into my mouth. This has to be one of the best cakes I've ever had. How come I've never heard of this place?
"I see you've been doing your research. Am I very interesting?" I was trying to be playful with him. Hopefully he caught that hint. He softly chuckled.
"Very interesting." Kit handed my purse and phone towards me. "I didn't steal anything if you were wondering."
I smiled and took my things. Whether he did or not it's not like there's anything really valuable in there, "I wasn't worried about you stealing."
"Oh? Why not? I'm sure a pretty girl like you has stuff valuable in there."
My cheeks heated up. He had called me pretty. Is he trying to flirt with me or was this just a one-and-done compliment? It sounds like flirting. Ugh, I don't know!
"Well you're smart and have a good job so there would be no reason to steal from me. Unless that is, you're looking for trouble."
I watched as Kit took a drink of his coffee. I've never seen a guy look this hot by just drinking a liquid. Something everyone does!
"If you look at me like that princess, I might get the wrong idea." Kit said snapping me out of my trance. I now noticed that I had been watching him closely. He had been watching me watch him closely. Oh good lord.
I cleared my throat. I have to keep my composure. "Get the wrong idea? What idea would that be, Kit?" I asked. I hoped my attempt at flirting was working.
"....nothing."
I hummed. Why did he stop? Did I say something wrong? Was I reading to much to this?
Kit was looking at me. His eyes going over every single feature on my face. From the top of my hood, to my eyes, then my nose, to my pink lips, then to my neck and
collarbones that were visible through the sweater I had on.
Ahhhhhhh!
"Now Kit, I'm starting to get the wrong idea. If you keeping looking at me like that, I'll have no choice but to think you're checking me out." I took a sip of my water. He looks puzzled. I had just won this! Go me, go me!
"That's because I am checking you out." Kit said in a matter-of-fact type of way.
I was wrong. I didn't win anything. I dang near spit out my water on myself.
