The rest of the time we were there was filled with getting to know each other. I had found out that Kit has talent with weaponry. He has a dog named bagel. He hates spicy food, which I didn't miss a beat in teasing him about that. Him and Daniel have been childhood friends. Kit views Daniel as a brother, but wasn't going to tell him that.Kit laughed at what I said as we walked on the sidewalk, heading back to the palace. "So let me get this straight, your friend put roaches in some kids lunch just because they made you cry?"
I nodded. That was the first day I had met Esmeralda. A couple of girls had been making fun of my pink bows in my hair back in elementary school. I was only six at the time so I did what any six year old would do and I cried about it. Little did I know back then that little Esmeralda had been watching me.
"Are you saying you wouldn't do the same for Daniel?"
"I would have. Well, not the roaches. That's nasty. Probably would have beat their asses though."
"Well, looks like this is my stop." I said. We had reached the hidden gate door which led into the palace territory. This was the only door which didn't have guards guarding it, nor was it in a cameras view. It was a door that nobody besides the king and the queen were suppose to know about.
Well...I knew about it. Now Kit did too.
"I guess it is..." Kit said. He looked at me as though he were trying to find something, anything. But I didn't know what.
"Uhm, thank you. For my things." I said as I lifted up my purse and phone.
"No problem."
As I opened the gate I had this nagging feeling that I was supposed to be doing something.
I turned around, "Kit?"
"Yes?" He said quickly.
"I'll see you around?" This was my way of asking him if we would meet again. If we could meet again. Sure it wasn't a full on date request but this was as good as it was gonna get.
Kit smiled. Honestly it suited him. My thumping heart felt like it skipped one of its many beats. He nodded at me then walked away with the same beautiful smile on his face. Only looking back a couple times to see if I was still there watching him leave.
