storm

It was the next day, and there was currently a really bad storm happening in Florida.

Baylen and Kyle would be stuck at their grandparents house for at least another few days because of this storm.

Peej and I were laying on the couch together, with my head on his chest under multiple blankets as we watched Spider-man on the tv, while outside the rain was pouring, the wind was blowing fast, and loud thunder boomed in the sky.

Every time the thunder boomed, I would jump.

"It's alright baby." He laughs.

"Don't laugh at me." I giggle.

"I'm gonna." He teases.

I jokingly gasp and go to get up.

"No no no i'm kidding." He laughs as he pulls me onto his lap, and kisses me. "I love you ma."

"Mhm." I laugh into the kiss.

"Even if I did let you get up, after seeing how you literally couldn't walk this morning I don't think you could get very far." He laughs.

"Your fault." I laugh.

"Proudly." He laughs as he pulls me into another kiss.

Just to mess with him, I move back and forth on his lap once or twice.

"Evelyn." He mumbles into the kiss.

His hands go on my waist, and mine go to his hair.

I move back in forth again, seeing what he'll do.

"Baby." He mumbles.

"Hm?" I smile into the kiss.

"You know what." He laughs into the kiss.

Suddenly, the power goes out.

"Shit." Peej laughs.

The house was almost completely dark, except a little bit of light coming from outside.

We light candles, and eventually there's enough light in the house to actually do stuff.

I sit at the counter while he walks into the kitchen.

"You hungry?" He asks.

"A little." I shrug.

"Have you eaten today?" He asks.

I had always struggled with an appetite, and my adhd has me straight up forgetting to eat.

"Not yet." I say.

"Evy it's almost seven pm, you need to eat." He sighs.

"I know, I just forgot." I shrug.

That's something Peej has been worried about since middle school. I've never had an appetite, and was pretty underweight.

"You know how worried it makes me." He says.

"I'm okay, I promise." I smile. "I've been like this since the day I was born."

"Alright." He sighs.

"Peej." I say.

"Hm?" He asks.

"You don't have to worry about me, i'll be okay." I say.

"I'm always gonna worry about you baby, I love you too much to not." He says.

He makes food to the best of his abilities without using power, and we eat.

"Thank you." I smile as he hands me food.

"Of course." He smiles as he kisses my forehead, clearly flustering me.

"You know what's in a week?" Peej smiles.

"Yeah yeah whatever." I laugh.

My birthday was coming up quick. I was never a fan of birthdays, I didn't like all the attention, nor the memories from past birthdays.

"I know you don't like birthdays." He says as he hugs me from behind. "But you know i'm still gonna spoil you."

"I know you are." I laugh as I turn my head, and plant a quick kiss on his lips.
