Job offer

I couldn't help but laugh as I remembered what happened just a week ago in my office. Honestly, I could never get over the fact that Aayushi had settled for Kartik. I could never get the picture of her flustered look on my face.

I was scrolling through my emails casually that day as I sat in my chair. Everyone around me was working very leisurely because we didn't have much work on our hands. That's why, I even had the time to check my email in the office.

My mind was somewhere else as I scrolled down all my emails, trying to check if there were any important ones that were put in spam.
That's when my eyes crossed paths with that email that was about to change my life.

I had never thought that I would receive the offer of my lifetime that day.

I had never even imagined that that offer would be sent to my company.

But that email stood right in front of my eyes as I boredly went through my other emails.
I wouldn't say that it stood out since the start. Actually, I didn't even look at it in the start. I just clicked on it without any thought just to make sure that it wasn't something important.

And damn was it important.

I was casually sitting on my chair. My legs folded as I binged on a few chips when I read the first words on it, the ground below my chair began shaking. It felt like there was an earthquake in my office. But only I felt the earthquake.

As I read the words "we would like to work with you," I felt my casual posture turned into a straight, and serious posture. I left folding my legs and the chip in my hand fell down.

As soon as I completed reading that email, I looked up at Aayushi. She was frowning and doing something on her screen.

I needed to talk to her.

Immediately.

She... She needed to know this.

Besides, I couldn't keep it to myself. So, I called her.

" AAYU!"
" Hmm?" She seemed uninterested to say the least. But I was on cloud nine.

Honestly, at that moment, I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I just knew that I couldn't keep the excitement to myself.

So I jumped off my chair, ran towards her, turned her chair around and made her look at me as I held her shoulders tightly.
" AAYU!!"
" What are you doing?"
" YOU WON'T GUESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED!"
" What happened? Why are you acting all over excited?" Kartik asked from the side, and I turned to look at him with the biggest smile on my face
" EAL CONTACTED US!!! THEY WANT US TO WORK ON A PROJECT WITH TREXX!!!!!" I screamed on the top of my lungs, and all I heard was nothing.

Literally. Nothing.

Did they have nothing to say?

We got such a big offer!
The European Advertising League was offering us a job! They wanted us to work for them! That also with Trexx!!!

Did you know what that meant to us?! What that meant for our company?! What that meant for me?!?!?

All that we worked for... It was all coming together.
Till now our company only got small jobs from locals or a few big companies around Maharashtra. Us getting a job offer straight from Europe! That too to work with one of the best companies in India!

I couldn't believe my eyes or ears!

But it was happening!

" Wh-what? EAL contacted us...?" Kartik finally spoke up and I ran back to my table and looked at the email once again.
" YES! COME LOOK!" I screamed once again and everyone ran towards me. Literally everyone. Not even a single person stayed in their seats after I called them

And now everyone was standing behind me, reading the email.

God.

I never thought that this day would come this soon.

But it had come!

And now, I couldn't control my happiness...

" It's not possible..." Aayushi muttered and looked at her
" BUT IT IS! SEE! IT IS RIGHT HERE! IN FRONT OF OUR EYES!" I turned around and grabbed her cheeks in place, " AAYU!!!!" And without thinking anything, I kissed her cheek hard

And dumb me didn't even think anything of it! Instead, I turned around to look back at the screen. Well, I shouldn't be calling myself dumb because she didn't seem to mind. In fact, I don't think that she even noticed. We were all busy thinking about the offer letter after all...

" WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!!??! REPLY NA! QUICK! TELL THEM WE ARE READY!" someone said out aloud and I immediately clicked on the reply option present under the email that we all just read
" RIGHT!" I shouted as I began typing the most perfectly business-like answer that I could make.

I put all the sophisticated words I knew and made it extra fancy. In fact, I, Aayu, and Katty all three just sat and drafted that email for the entire day and after I sent hit on the send button, all I could do was wait with anticipation in my heart.

It was the offer of a lifetime for me at that point. I was so not going to lose this one...

This could really make our company shine amongst all our competitors... It could raise our market value. And we could finally get some job that we actually love to do. Hopefully.

I was betting my hopes on it...

But their reply... It really set me back.

They wanted us to work on a Europe-Indian mixture series of advertisements made. They wanted us to work on this project with one of the Indian companies they had a tie up with. They wanted Trexx to work on it with us and they wanted us to handle the distribution of work among our companies after mutually deciding it.

I was fine with all of this.

But then... They had one more thing to add to it.

They wanted to have no hiccups. So, they wanted us to work together with Trexx in the same city and in the same studio... Meaning... They wanted all of us to go to Delhi and work there for over a month... Or maybe even more.

And what did that mean?

That I'd have to leave my house, my husband, and my family and go there for a whole month or maybe even more than that...
This was an issue.

It hadn't even been a month since our wedding!

I couldn't just leave my husband after a month of marriage for a whole month and go somewhere. I was newly wed!

No one would give me permission to go out of the city alone right now!

Forget that, how will I even go there all alone?

Sohit would never let me go.

But still, I hoped that he would...
