Chapter 17

(I felt bad, about leaving you on a cliffhanger yk. <3)

MEL POV:

I quickly got out of the person's grip and elbowed him into his ribs, which escalated the pain in the man's voice.

I quickly turned and looked at the man. I was shocked to see a face I knew so well.

„ROBBIE YOU FUCKING IDIOT!" I slapped his high ass face.

My eyes went wild as he said, "I'm sorry Mel. I didn't mean to scare you.".

„You kidding me, I thought I would get raped or something." He offered me a quick sorry and light up his cigarette.

„Yo, I just wanted to talk to ya'."

„You could have walked up to me in school." I raised my eyebrows.

„I was in a hurry today. I couldn't find you." I just sigh and sit next to him on the path. He passed me a cigarette, which I declined.

„I heard about your father. I'm sorry." I nod and rest my head on his shoulder.

We sat in silence for 10 more minutes when I heard someone call my name.

Suddenly, they rushed my way, glancing at Robbie and asking "Hey Mel, what are you doing here?"

"We're just talking, everything's okay." They sigh in relief. It was the Arsenal girls, more specifically Leah, Beth, and the two girls who I recognized was Gio and Rafa from the Brazil national team.

„Look I will take off now, see you at school Mel." Said Robbie as he helped me up and slide the cigarettes into my pocket. Fucking idiot...

There was no doubt they saw it, since Leah was looking angry at me. I was in trouble, yeah.

„ Come with us." Leah said as she wrapped her arm around my shoulder and pushed me in front of her against my will. Beth and the other girls smiled and walked with us.

„So Mel, I'm glad to see you again." Beth said and hit my shoulder.

As I smiled, I said: "Good to see you too." I didn't say anything else because the two Brazilian girls with us made it uncomfortable for me to talk to them. I didn't know them personally so I didn't know how to act in front of them.

In the beginning, I thought Leah would take me back to the group home, but soon I realized wewere in front of a house.

Leah said bye to the girls who walked away and led me into the house.

„You can put your jacket on the hanger over there." Leah said while we took off our shoes.

My first thought was this was Leah's house, but the photos on the wall quickly convinced me that it was her family home. I didn't know how I felt about that.

I quickly stopped in my tracks as I saw a red-haired woman making tea in a kitchen. After Leah didn't realize I stopped, she dumped into me, causing the woman to look up in shock.

„Oh, Lea darlin' hey." She smiled at Leah. That was the softest most carried smile I ever saw on someone. It was a smile with love.

Leah hugged her and I realized it was her mother and whispered something into her ear. Her mother nodded and smiled at me. I held onto my backpack smiling tight.

Her mother walked past me and softly petted my head and left the room walking up the stairs.

„You can sit down you know." Leah said while sitting down on the sofa. I slowly crossed the sofa taking the backpack off my shoulder and putting it down next to me. I sat down on the sofa pulling my knees to my chest and resting my chin on them.

„Why are we here?" I asked after a minute of silence.

A deep breath was taken by Leah, as she replied, "Better question: why did you spend all your time in the dark with a boy smoking?" Sha looked disappointed at me. I knew she saw that Dick gave me the cigarettes.

„I...didn't smoke." I said slowly looking into her eyes showing that I'm not lying. Her look softened.

„I wanted to see you tonight at the group house, but the lady told me you didn't get back when you were supposed to. I got scared something had happened to you." She said. Here we go again. The words "scared", "worried".

„I didn't mean it. I just...I wanted to piss her off." I said with a bit of anger.

„Why?" Leah asked confused.

„I..." I didn't actually know why, it just made me feel okay. „I don't know actually."

Leah whispered a soft "Okay." I looked back up at her.

„Do I...Do I need to go back?" I asked. My hope is that somehow I will be able to stay with her for a night.

„Yeah, but you can stay here overnight." She replied with a grin.

I laughed: „Thank you, the bed is terrible back there." She laughed at me.

„Come on trouble maker, I will give you my bed." She said standing up and giving me her hand. I took it and walked upstairs to her room.

She had a double bed and some decorations. Then she showed me to the restroom and picked me up some arsenal shorts and hoodie. I changed and headed back to her room.

It was a long time ago since I slept in the same bed with someone else it was weird, but in an enjoyable way.

We both snuggle under the covers.

„This is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in." I whispered to Leah while she laughed.

„ I'm glad." She whispered back.

I suddenly snuggled closer to her out of instinct. I didn't know why, but she let me. I guess she was used to it.

She put her arms around me and pulled me closer to her. I heard her heart beat as I laid my head on her chest.

And suddenly...for the second time in two days....

The world went quiet.

Didn't wanted to let you on a cliffhanger for a long time so here is an update.

Don't worry Lucy is working her way back to England from Barcelona the same moment as Leah and Mel are falling asleep. 😉
