"...Why were you watching us at the mall?"Bakugo slightly opened his mouth in surprise. He looked down to the left and slightly blushed.
"What are you talking about, damn nerd." Bakugo wasn't as afraid right now as he was embarrassed.
"Well I'm not really sure about the weird coat you were wearing, but the blonde spikey hair is a dead giveaway." Midoriya wanted to be right, and it would be really embarrassing if he wasn't. But Bakugo didn't know he had doubts, he just thought he was completely busted. He waited too long to find the words he was looking for. Midoriya caught on to that quickly as he wouldn't make eye contact, which is the behavior of a liar.
"So I was right. It was you. Usually, you are much better at lying by yelling random stuff, so what's different this time?" Midoriya said in a serious tone. He wasn't mad, he was just confused.
"I'm tired you idiot, and I just wanna go to bed," Bakugo growled.
"You didn't deny anything," Midoriya claimed. Bakugo was quiet, still not looking up at him. Midoriya caught on to his nerves. "K-Kacchan I'm not mad, I just- why were you being so suspicious?"
"Would you believe me if I told you I don't know?" Bakugo genuinely asked him, putting his hands in his pockets and closing his eyes.
Midoriya gasped. He didn't even know what that meant. To Midoriya, how did Bakugo just admit to losing control of himself? Midoriya just witnessed something he never thought was possible with Bakugo. He's shown so much vulnerability during this entire conversation, and he knows how much Bakugo is afraid of that. Midoriya actually started smiling big after realizing all of this, so big that he was squinting his eyes closed. Bakugo finally opened his eyes to see Midoriya's big smile stretch his face, making the blonde blush so hard that it was insanely noticeable. Luckily Midoriya had his eyes closed, so Bakugo had time to calm his blushing. As Midoriya opened his eyes, they made eye contact. He still saw the redness on Bakugo's face as it dialed down. Midoriya's heart jolted like it skipped a beat. It was so loud. The anxiety he was feeling was overwhelming him. He was scared that he was gonna get sick again like with Uraraka. But... he never did. He never got nauseous, and he never got uncomfortable. It was just, butterflies in his stomach. Intense butterflies. Just from Kacchan blushing? What is happening to me? His red eyes... are less intimidating... I've never looked at them like this. K-Kacchan? Meanwhile, Bakugo's heart jolted as well. He was so nervous about what Midoriya could be thinking about him blushing. It was embarrassing. He was vulnerable. He didn't know what to do. What is this feeling? Deku's eyes... I feel... so calm when I look at them... I've always been so afraid of this feeling, but I accidentally let it take over me this time. What the fuck is happening? Why am I letting this happen? This isn't me! Shit! They just kept looking at each other while their individual thoughts rushed through their heads. They both then thought about how to break this awkward exchange.
"Uhm, K-Kacchan?" Midoriya asked, his blushing intensified.
"I-I'm sorry for following you guys. I was just curious, that's all. And don't ask about the coat, you bastard." Bakugo said while trying to calm down and stop blushing.
"D-Don't worry about it, I just asked because I was also curious. It's nothing, okay?" Midoriya said in a super friendly tone. The awkward tension was dispersing and Bakugo let out a 'Tch' that made Midoriya chuckle. They both walked into the dorm building seeing the rest of their class hanging out on the couches. Now was the time Midoriya talked to Uraraka.
"H-Hey Uraraka? Can we talk now?" Midoriya said while nervously scratching the back of his neck. Bakugo looked at him with thee most criminal side eye and let out a 'Tch' before going in the direction of the elevator with his hands in his pockets. "Kacchan!" Midoriya called out to him. Bakugo stopped and turned to him as Midoriya waved 'goodbye' to him. He smirked at his wave and continued walking to the elevator. He was so relieved that their conversation wasn't what he originally expected. Midoriya was... so sweet... to him. Meanwhile, Uraraka was making her way to Midoriya as he then gestured for them to go past the couches and tables into the kitchen. He was hoping none of their classmates were over there. Luckily there weren't.
