"If I had told you both that these bikes couldn't be fixed, what would you have said?" Jacob asked
"Are you doubting your mad skills?" Bella asked
"No, I'm sure they'll run fine, it's just. Maybe if I was smart I would have dragged out the rebuild" Jacob shrugged. Cordelia suddenly felt like the third wheel.
"Well it is hot in here." She said and rolled down the window.
"If you told me that you couldn't fix them, then I would have said that's too bad so we are going to have to find something else to do."
"Is that Sam Uley?" Bella asked looking at the cliff. Cordelia's heart sunk as she saw a group of boys messing around at the edge of the cliff
"Oh my god" She gasped as a boy got pushed off
Bella got out of the truck and ran over
"Did you see that?" Bella asked in shock. Jacob laughed as he and Cordelia got out
"Relax Bella. They arent really fighting, they are cliff diving. It is scary as hell, but it is a total rush" Jacob informed
"A rush?" Bella asked
"It is best to jump from lower down and leave the showing off to Sam and his deciples."
"You got some sort of beef with them or something?" Bella asked, walking over
"I don't know." He sighed "They just think they run this place. Embry used to call them hall monitors on steroids. Now look at him"
"Jeez, that is Embry?" Cordelia asked, munching on a chocolate bar. Bella raised her eyebrows at her friend
"Yeah."
"What happened to him?" Bella asked, tearing her eyes away from Cordelia
"He started missing some school, now all of a sudden he is following Sam around like a little puppy. Same thing with Paul and Jared. Sam keeps giving me this look, like you're next"
"Well, just avoid him" Bella said
"Yeah, who wants to hang with him, when you have us. I mean I have food on me always. They have sweat on them. Always" Cordelia nudged Jacob. He smiled at the Orphan
"I try" He sighed
"Have you ever ridden before?" Jacob asked Cordelia
"Yeah Mrs Hobbs ex husband owned a few and taught me how to ride. Before he became a drunken abusive dick"
"Okay, so you know what you are doing then." Jacob smiled at his friend
"I'm rather intelligent in that area, my long haired friend" Cordelia saluted and began to drive around.
She parked up beside her friends a few minutes later and watched as Jacob told Bella how to drive
In a flash she was driving. She looked back then foreward again
"Jake, She is losing control!" Cordelia yelled, getting on her bike and riding after her friend, who had fallen and hit her head on a rock.
"Bells!" Cordelia yelled as she parked and ran over. as Jacob came over on his bike
"I wanna go again" Bella said as Cordelia sat her up."
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Jacob asked
"I'm fine, I wanna go again" Bella persisted.
"Absolutley not. No." Cordelia said sternly
"No more bikes" Jacob agreed.
