Cordelia's day started as usual. She had woken to her alarm and headed to the bathroom to get dressed for the day. Once she was dressed, she headed downstairs and made herself a coffee. Mrs Hobbs would still be sleeping by the time she left for school. Cordelia finished her coffee and breakfast and headed to her car and began the drive to school.

She parked her car close to the school. It was raining and she didn't really want to run to the school. She put her things away and headed through the crowd to her class, a few people bumped into her and called her a freak, but she ignored them and continued to walk to class.

"Did you hear about Bella? She was missing in the woods. Apparently the Cullen's left and she decided ti take a hike" Lauren Mallory told Jessica, who listened intently as Cordelia took her usual seat, second from the back, closest to the window

"Shh, don't say anything, here she comes." Jessica said.

Isabella looked tired and she had obviously been crying. Her eyes were puffy.

Cordelia felt sorry for the chiefs daughter. She always seemed like a kind person. This break up would surely hurt her.

A few weeks had passed since the Cullens had left Forks and Isabella had completley isolated herself from her usual group of friends. She had been sitting alone at lunch, much like Cordelia.

It wasn't until this particular November day when the weather was particularly bad and the caffetiria was crowded that Bella approached the orphan.

"Mind if I sit?" Isabella asked.

"Uh, sure." Cordelia had said and moved her tray over for the girl to sit down.

"Thanks. Are you new?" Isabella asked

"No, I have lived in Forks my whole life." Cordelia replied

"Oh. How come I have never seen you around before?" Isabella asked

"I tend to stay to myself. People think I am a freak."

"Oh. Sorry. Uhm, I... I dont think you are a freak." Isabella had spoken awkwardly, watching as Cordelia's lips curled to a smirk.

"Thanks" She chuckled

"I'm Bella Swan by the way." Bella clarified, breaking the ice more than it had been.

"Cordelia" The orphan nodded in a greeting.

The conversation had ended there, but their seating arrangement didn't, Bella sat with her everyday until she had decided to speak again.

"Hey, what are you doing after school?" Bella asked her kind of friend

"Nothing much. Reading in my room."

"Would you like to grab a coffee, maybe take a walk?" Bella asked. Cordelia smiled.

"Sure, that'd be nice." Cordelia nodded happily.

"Great, I'll have to head home, but we can meet at the coffee shop, The In Place around five?" Bella suggested

"Sounds good to me." Cordelia agreed as the bell wrung.

"See you later, Bella" Cordelia said and began to head to class.

After the school day was over, Cordelia headed home and ran inside, smiling. She ran to find mrs Hobbs and grinned when she saw her.

"Delia, honey. What has gotten you all giddy?"

"I have a friend!" She smiled

"You do? Oh sweetie, that is great who is it?"

"Isabella Swan. She is Chief Swan's daughter. She has been sitting with me at lunch for a few weeks and she invited me out to coffee!"

"I'm so happy for you, Delia" Mrs Hobbs smiled, making the bed in one of the spare rooms.

"Need some help?" Cordelia asked

"No, don't you worry. We are having a foster for a few nights until they find a place for her."

"Oh, I can be in early if you want?"

"Don't be silly, girl. You go and have fun with your friend." Hobbs rubbed Cordelia's arm. The orphan nodded

"I need to get ready." She realized and ran to her room with a smile on her face. Mrs Hobbs smiled and shook her head fondly at the 17 year old.

Cordelia looked around for Bella and sighed happily as she saw her sitting down indoors. She walked over and smiled at the girl,

"Hey." Bella smiled shortly

"Hi." Cordelia returned the smile and sat.

The duo sat for hours getting to know each other and laughing about anything and everything. This was the beginning of a wonderful friendship, stronger than any friendship.

Cordelia arrived home with a smile on her face. It wasn't overly late, but it wasn't early. Hobbs was still awake and in the living room, but it was a guarantee that the foster was in bed. Cordelia crept upstairs to her room and got changed. She smiled as she saw a message from Bella.

Bella 🪴❤️

'Hey, i had a lot of fun tonight. We should do it again'

'I did too, thanks for inviting me'

'What are friends for. I'll see you tomorrow?'

'Of course, see you tomorrow'

The feeling of having a friend was completely foreign to Cordelia. She had always been alone, taking care of herself. She was worried that she would mess this up for herself and be that one girl who couldn't keep a friend.

She shook away those thoughts and took a deep breath. She is going to be the best friend that she can. Who better than her? Cordelia had imagined what having friends would be like, how it would feel to have someone be there to support you, how it would feel to have someone to laugh with. She would be the Ron to his Harry, the Sam to her Frodo. She would be the best friend Bella could ask for.

With a smile on her face, Cordelia turned the big lights off and turned on her lamp, picking up her book. The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe. She had read it a thousand times and still couldn't get bored of it. She easily recognized that Aslan is a portrayal of Jesus Christ. The though gave her shivers.

After reading a few chapters, she placed the book down and allowed her eyes to shut over, letting the darkness win.

As with every night, she is greeted to that beautiful garden in a warm place. Solitude. She loved this little garden, she felt at home there. Unlike Forks, this place was her real home, too bad she dreampt it up and wouldn't be able to go there for real.

It would seem that for the orphan Cordelia, things were looking up.
