Cordelia had always been an orphan. She had never known a time when she was wanted or lived with someone other than Mrs Hobbs, the lady in charge of the Orphanage if you could even call it that. Cordelia was one of three children who lived there. There aren't many orphans in Forks, but Cordelia didn't mind. The kids weren't a bother. John, the eldest was always getting himself in trouble with Chief Swan and Nina was a cheerleader, but she wasn't a bitchy girl she was really sweet.
Nina was adopted at ten by some couple in Seattle, so she was not in the house anymore John got arrested on his 18th birthday and is serving time in Jail for the next five years.
Cordelia was the last child in the care of Mrs Hobbs.
How could one explain Cordelia? A loner, intelligent, creative and magical. Those words didn't do her justice. She was much more than that.
Cordelia took care of herself. She knew that if she wanted something, she works for it. You don't get things handed to you for doing nothing.
Cordelia had always felt connected to water. She loved going to the lake in the forest, no one knew about the lake. It was her place. Somewhere where her mind could make up scenarios, melodies, pictures. It was her place where inspiration hit her like a wave. Inspiration that was like being caught in a current, she couldn't leave until she was satisfied. She would watch the still water and feel at peace. Then one day, she decided to swim within the water. She had been dragged by an unseen force to the bottom of the lake where a necklace made its way around her neck. Since then she had been able to control water. Summon it, manipulate it. She could do anything with it. Well, not everything. She can bend water and summon it to drink. She could also breathe under water. It was strange. She had never told anyone about this. Who would believe her?
She had always hoped to get adopted, but she knew that wouldn't happen. Who wants to adopt a teenager?
Mrs Hobbs was a good guardian. She gave Cordelia her old car when she turned sixteen, so that was pretty cool. She always made sure Cordelia was fed, clean and made sure she wasn't struggling with her mental health. Cordelia would be greatful for Mrs Hobbs her whle life.
School was okay. She hadn't been popular. Scratch that, she had no friends. She was an orphan and most people assumed she was damaged goods. She didn't mind. She had music and books.
The kids called her a freak. She had no idea why. they didn't know about her and her gift. She was a normal girl. She just kept to herself all the time. Was it because she spent time at the Homeless shelter volunteering? She would never know
Things had gotten interesting when the Cullen's moved to Forks. They were a standoffish bunch, but Alice and Jasper had a friendly smile, but they never approached her for some reason. Not that Cordelia minded. They were of no relevance to her.
Things simmered down again until Isabella Swan moved to Forks. She was Chief Swan's daughter. She had befriended Jessica Stanley and her friends. They were quite rude, barr Angela and Eric. They were kind.
Then Isabella and Edward began dating after she was nearly hit by a car.
Isabella was flung out of a window, turned 18 and then the Cullens left. Making Isabella spiral into a deep depression. That brings us to present day. The day that changed Cordelia's life forever.
This is Cordelia's story, a tale of friendship and heartache.
