"I HATE THAT GUY!" Dion exclaimed from her seat in the council hall.
"You know I can hear you, right? I'm literally in front of you." the new Greenie – who haven't remembered his name yet – rolled his eyes from his seat across. Another beat passed he mumbled under his breath, "S'not like I like you all that much either."
Dion rolled her eyes from her seat, arms crossed, hiding both her hands that already turned into fists, her blood already stopping its flow to her palms and fingers.
"Right, cause your approval means so much to me." she barked to his face back angrily.
Greenie scoffed, "Bitch." he grumbled under his breath but loud enough for the girl to hear.
And just like that. The flames reached the end of the rope and the bomb finally exploded.
At that, Dion's eyes widened farther than they have ever did before. There was a moment of fleeting silence before she jumped off the seat towards the boy about to maul him alive. Luckily for the boy, Gally and Frypan already had a sixth sense that made them hold her back—which made it look like they were risking their lives doing so—before she could tackle the boy. She kept yelling profanities at the brunette boy. The grip of the two boys were strong. But not strong enough. She elbowed the two innocent boys causing them to let go of her and groan in pain.
The Greenie's eyes widen and quickly ran for his dear life with Dion hot on his tail. The two left the stuffy hut, running around the Glade. The boy was surprisingly quick on his feet. But compared to a riled-up Dion, it was definitely not enough. He was gonna die.
The Gladers who were doing their jobs outside – mostly just Builders and Track-hoes – watched as the scene unfold.
"You know, on a day like this she'd make a great Runner." a Builder that stopped mid-work to watch said to his friend who nodded in agreement.
She finally caught up to the boy and tackled him hard to the ground. She grabbed the collar of his shirt and start shoving him to the ground with all the strength she had.
"Say that again! Say that again I fucking dare you!" nearby Gladers could be seen covering up the eyes and ears of the younger Gladers. She kept shoving him harder onto the ground, her breath was heavy and short. She saw his eyes widen at her sudden words. "You don't know jack shit about me–"
"That's it." He muttered under his breath, which the girl could hear but didn't care enough to ask what he was talking about.
She raised her fist and was about to throw it onto the boy's face. But she was suddenly pulled back by a pair of arms wrapped around her waist. When she was far enough from the boy, Zart and Clint crouched down to the boy, Clint looking for any signs of injury.
To say Zart was surprised at the person who held her was an understatement. She turned around and looked up to see the person she'd been hoping to come around the past three weeks.
It was Newt.
The natural light looked different on him, he looked more alive under the sun rather than the bleak lighting of his room, reckon he did still look like he just raised from the dead but the sun seemed to help bring life back into his skin.
Dion had stopped thrashing the moment she saw the shell that used to be her friend, it was only then when she heard Nick she finally let her focus on him drop.
"Hey! What the shuck was that?!" the two looked over to the brunette who was stomping his way towards them, scolding the girl along the way.
In the heat of the moment with anger still burning up flames in her, Dion rolled her eyes as if on autopilot.
