I turned on my heel and ran.
The skirt of my dress was making it difficult so I grabbed a handful of the material in each hand and lifted it up. My bare feet thudded against the wooden floor as I ran, desperately trying to get back to a more populated area of the party.
I could faintly hear the sounds of someone following after me as I ran. It spurred me on, making me run faster despite the pain I was experiencing in my legs from last night. I could hear the sound of the party getting louder and louder the closer I got and it made me realise just how far away I had been from the party.
I reached a door where I could hear the sound of the music, even make out the lyrics of the song that was playing. I placed a hand on the handle but before I could turn it and enter the room beyond, a hand closed around my other wrist and jerked me back and away from the door. I went to let out a scream but a hand came down over my mouth to silence me. I struggled against them but there was no point to it because the person holding me was stronger than me.
They pulled me away from the door and I continued struggling against them as we went. The held me tighter as we moved further and further away from the door and I whimpered slightly, trying desperately to get free of their grip.
Once we were far enough away from the door and in another room, whoever held me shut the door behind us. The second they were sure that the door was closed firmly and we were far enough away from it, did they let me go. I went to pull away from them but once again they grabbed my wrist, jerking me around and pushing me back towards the door where they pinned me back against it.
"Be quiet!" they ordered me and my eyes snapped open as I recognised the voice.
I looked towards the person who now pinned me against the door and my fears were confirmed when I saw that it was who I thought it was. Jasper's eyes, which were now a brilliant shade of red, were locked on my face. I swallowed heavily, my face paling as I looked at him. There was a sneer on his lips, exposing his fangs to me which made me flinch back away from him. I struggled against him, despite the fear that was setting itself firmly in a place in my chest.
I heard a growl come from him and I continued struggling against him. He pressed himself against me even more, trying to get me to stop struggling with a single hand. And he was doing an excellent job of it.
"Stop struggling for God's sake!" Jasper exclaimed at me and I scowled at him, biting down on his hand where I could reach it and he let out a yelp. He wrenched his hand back from my mouth and I spat out the blood I had drawn when I had bit down onto his hand. He growled again, louder and more frightening than before and he turned towards me. I froze at what I saw and wished with all my might that I was anywhere but at the party. Even back home with my father.
He looked at me, his eyes now black as his eyes met mine and he crushed his body against mine, effectively pinning me even more so against the door and making my heart leap and beat wildly against my chest and causing every injury I had to throb painfully. I winced heavily, my eyes closing shut tightly. I felt him reach up and place a hand around my throat and my eyes flew open, pushing against his chest to get him to back off.
"Let go of me!" I shouted at him and the hand that had been at my neck slapped down over my mouth once more.
