You said I was yellow:
Happy,
Bright,
Excited,
Starry-eyed,
And explosive,
Just like the sun.
You lied.
You lied about a lot of things.
You told me
I was your sun.
You told me
I was made of sunlight.
You told me
I could do this.
You told me
My soul sparkled
Like the morning dawn.
You lied about a lot of things.
I let your words fill my ears,
Resonate within my mind's eye,
Circulate behind my diamond heart.
I let you define me.
That was my mistake.
You lied about a lot of things.
That was your mistake.
You lied to me,
But never spoke
Anything except truth.
I am a sun.
I am made of sunlight.
I can do this.
I did.
My soul does sparkle
Like the morning dawn.
You lied about a lot of things.
But I know who I am.
I am yellow:
Happy,
Bright,
Excited,
Starry-eyed,
And explosive,
Just like the sun.
