"Cato Hadley."

Your kidding me. What are the actual chances that I got stuck with him. Anyone but him.

Cato Hadley is one of the mhost arrogant, self-centered playboy you will ever meet. He is also classed as 'the most handsome boy in our district'. Yeah right. He may be 6ft 3in and have rippling muscles, but he is just anothet dumb blonde.

"So Clover, guess we're together then"
I turn around to see Cato standing there, his trademark arrogant smirk plastered on his face.
"It's not like a chose to be with you idiot." I say scowling. This is not fair.
"Oh come one, you know we are going to have so much fun together Clovely!"

I whip one of my knives from my belt and lodge it against his throat.
"Don't call me Clovely." I threaten, pushing into his skin just hard enough to draw blood."

"Woah Clover, don't try to kill me just yet, we haven't even done anything together."
I roll my eyes and release my knife from his neck. Clover? I am going to have the worst year ever.

"This is great, two of the best students under my wing, you will both be in the games in no time" We both look over our shoulders to see Wayre looking at us. She will be our trainer then, not bad.

"Come on, lets go to the gym. I need to see if you really live up to my expectations."

We follow her to a seperate area with weapons lined along the walls. Finally, my hands have been itching to try some better knives. I love my knives, I really do, but they are old and the grips are starting to wear away.

"Hadley, your up first, show me what you got." Wayre says before sitting down to observe.

Hadley lunges forward to the spears, weighs one in his hand and throws it towards the target. It hits bullseye, which I was expecting, because even though he is irksome, he's incredibly talented in almost all forms of fighting, but especially spears and swords.

He releases another spear and this time it hits the second ring. Ha, he's not perfect then. I smirk as he stomps over to the sword station, obviously annoyed at not hitting bullseye.

He picks up a sword and looks back at us cockily before swinging his sword through a dummy's head. He continues to slash every single one until there is a pile of limbs on the floor. I would not like to meet the end of Hadley's sword.

"Your turn Kentwell." Wayre says turning to me.
As I walk towards the knife section, I pass Hadley, who whispers in my ear," Try beat that Clover"
I say to him back,"I will beat that because I won't hit second ring"
He stalks off back to Wayre grumbling about women.

I pick up a first knife, a long one with a pointed blade and get ready to throw. I hurtle it towards a target, hitting a perfect bullseye. Then, I grab several other knives and throw them all, hitting bullseye every time. In a number of elaborate spins, I have thrown all the knives.

I walk back to Cato and Wayre smirking at my performance. Wayre's eyes are wide in shock, while Cato stands there unimpressed. He has seen me throw knived before.

"Not that impressive Clover, you just threw a couple knives." Hadley says, yawning.
"Oh shut up you brute, you can barely hold a knife, let alone throw it." I reply snarkily.
"Okay children thats enough" Wayre seperates us and sets us some work on the ropes.

I hate the ropes. I have little to no upper body strength and fall down about 5 times. Golden Boy however has arms double the size of mine and easily climbs up the rope. Life's not fair.

By lunchtime, my face was bright red and I was only 4/5 of the way there.
"Having fun up there Clover" Cato calls up mockingly. He was let off early after climbing the rope 5 TIMES. I haven't even done one.

"Shut up Hadley, I'm nearly there" I pant, swinging my arms up higher. I almost slip, but manage to grip my elbow round the rope. I am not failing now.
"You know Clover, you don't have to be the best at everything."
"Yeah I know, I just have to beat you though."

I swing my body a final time before reaching the top. Finally. Before I can say anything to Hadley, my fingers drop. Oh shit. I tumble down to the ground and get ready to hit the hard floor, but it never comes.

As I open my eyes, I realise that Hadley is holding me in his arms. He must if caught me.
"Let me go you oaf!" I scream at him, not wanting to seem weak.
He drops me straight to the floor which hurts a little.
"You could of said thank you Clover, you need to remember your manners" Cato says, smirking down at me.

I scowl at him and storm off to find Livia at the lunch hall. I don't want to deal with him for another second.

Cato follows me chomping down on an apple. He is even annoying when he eats for Gods sake. We walk into the lunch hall, which is filled with rowdy teens and go our seperate ways.

Him, to a table filled with popular dickheads and two-faces bitches. He even starts sucking one of their faces off, I think her name is Jena.

Me, to Livia. She is the only person who I can slightly put up with, even if she does talk about her boyfriend a lot. She is harmless though. She doesn't stand a chance of getting picked to represent our district. I do. Let's hope Cato Hadley doesn't bring me down.
