A Days Work Part II

Guys I'm actually sorry that this one is so long like I really am sorry 🙁
Anyways 😦 short news but I had to get it out of the way so yeah!
-So first off, I am on break so hopefully I can
update a little more but I have work and
some summer classes so I can't promise more
updates than I already have so I'm sorry 😞
second, I am actually running out of ideas
like legitimately. So please please please I beg
of thee to suggest scenarios anything to me bc
there is nothing up in my tiny brain! 💗
Third, Idk how you all would feel if I did
some little short fluff stories just to at least
not take like weeks making smut 💀💀

Time couldn't have gone by any slower.

     And as you sat half listening to the corporate leaders talk about who knew what, it seemed to go by even slower. You aimlessly tapped down notes on your laptop although at this hour of the meeting, there was hardly anymore information needed. The meeting had gone for hours and half the people in the room just wanted to leave.

And as much as your boss might've fooled the other's with his attentive posture: eye contact, occasional nodding, notes with pen and paper, he also wanted to leave— the doodles in the margins only encouraged him.

You uncrossed and re-crossed your legs before tapping his knee with the bottom of your heel. He glanced at you but resumed his attention. However, not long after, he nudged your shoe back.

You stifled a smile. You saw as he reached over and drew a line on the back of your hand with his pen. You looked at him in confusion but a smile spread across your lips.

He stopped his antics and you frowned at the loss of entertainment. Hearing nothing interesting, you glanced out the window. The grey clouds from earlier must have really picked up as the city was dark and shadowed with rain. It glistened over the window and you watched as two droplets raced down the glass. You assumed the sun had already set and it made you even more eager to have this meeting be over.

Thunder rumbled before a loud crack of lightning lit the sky. This jolted some people awake but silenced the others who still talked. You glanced at your boss. He tapped your knuckle with the end of his pen. Your smile returned.

A couple of long excruciating minutes passed before, like a rainbow after the rain, the coordinator of the meeting concluded and dismissed everyone.

Sighing in relief, you packed up your things and got up. Tanjiro followed close behind.

   "I thought that would never end," You whined to your boss as you two filed out.
   "Me too," He answered with a laugh. You two headed out into the hallway towards the elevators.

"Huh, it's raining out," Tanjiro observed as he stepped into the shaft. He held the door so you could follow in. It seemed the two of you were the only ones on. You reached over and pressed the button to one of the top floors; where his office was.

     As the elevator whirled up, there was a sort of thickness in the air. You fiddled with your papers at the silence, taking a moment to glance every now and then at your boss. There was no readable expression now that you two were alone.

     The tension was attributable to the... situation prior to the meeting. You began to flush and held your folders and laptop closer to your chest, as if protecting your heart would save you from the embarrassment of earlier. You hoped maybe he wouldn't notice and stole a last glance at him.

Tanjiro was simply looking at his phone... it seemed he was playing some game. For a moment, you relaxed. A small smile crept over your lips and your racing heart slowed. What am I so worried about? Relief surged throughout your body.
