Soulfully empty

Thats when Y/N got out of day dreaming, single tear running down her face, eyes red from yesterday's crying. Her heart was heavy with grief and despair. Hugh had been missing for months now, and there was no sign of him. She had searched every corner of Miss Peregrine's home, and asked everyone she knew if they had seen or heard anything about him, but to no avail. Where did he go? Why hasn't he come back yet? Why didn't he at least leave her a message? Did something happen to him?

One day, as she was walking through the gardens, she suddenly remembered how they were sitting here together, right here their first kiss happened, Y/N couldn't take it anymore. She collapsed to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she cried out in agony.

"Why did he have to leave me?" she sobbed, her heart feeling like it was shattering into a million pieces.

The other children came running to her, but their words of comfort fell on deaf ears. Y/N couldn't see a way out of her pain. She felt lost and alone, like she had been abandoned by the only person who had ever truly understood her."He's gone, isn't he?" she whispered to Emma, who had come to sit beside her.

Emma's eyes filled with tears as she put an arm around Y/N's shoulder. "I don't know," she said softly. "But we'll keep looking for him. We won't give up."

Y/N shook her head, feeling like she was drowning in a sea of despair. "What's the point?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. "He's not coming back."

Enoch, who had been standing nearby, spoke up. "We don't know that for sure," he said. "We have to keep hoping. That's all we have left."

Y/N looked up at him, her eyes red and swollen from crying. "I don't know if I can," she said, her voice shaking. "I miss him so much."The other children gathered around her, offering words of comfort and support. But Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that she was alone in her grief, that no one could truly understand the depth of her pain.

As the days turned into weeks, Y/N struggled to find any glimmer of hope. She would spend hours sitting by the window, staring out at the world beyond Miss Peregrine's home, wondering if Hugh was out there somewhere, looking for a way to come back home.

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that had settled in her heart. She missed Hugh's laugh, his smile, the way he would hold her hand when they walked through the gardens.

"He's never coming back, is he?" she whispered to Millard one day, feeling like she was betraying Hugh by even saying it.Millard put a hand on her shoulder, his eyes filled with understanding. "We don't know that for sure," he said softly. "But even if he doesn't come back, we'll be here for you. You're not alone."

Y/N clung to his words like a lifeline, feeling like she had a tiny sliver of hope once again. But she knew that the road ahead would be long and difficult, and that she would have to find the strength to keep going, no matter how hard it got.
