Hudson

"Hudson, your father and mother wish to speak to you and Nyle in their chambers for a moment. I heard one of the maids call out to me. I dressed quickly in a blue dress shirt and dark trousers. As I walked out of my room I saw my brother approaching. "Hey little bro." He rolled his eyes "Little seriously, you are three minutes older." He scoffed. He never was a morning person. "Let's go see what our parents are wanting."

We then made our way to the other side of the castle to our parent's chambers. We lived on land it kept the mortals from hunting us in the ocean. It allowed us to blend in and fit into the world as normal but we were on the ocean so we were still able to defend our seas from danger beyond a mere mortal's imagination. "Good morning my handsome boys." Mother gently called as she hugged each of us. "Sons." Father nodded towards us as we took seats at their table.

Why have you called us here father?" I asked wanting to get straight to business. "Well, as both of you know soon the blue moon will be upon us. We know this is when the female Sirens will be making their transformation. They have been spotted in several areas in groups." I interjected, "But they do not usually have large numbers. Why now?"

He had an intense look. "I do not know son. Nobody does. I feel they are up to something and we need to keep our guards up. I will be sending you and Nyle to one of the borders they have been spotted at. You will both attend a high school near there to continue blending in. See if you both can figure out what they are up to."

We finished our plans and headed to pack. I met Nyle at the front door of the castle and he was chipper. I have always wanted to attend a normal school." I rolled my eyes at his enthusiasm. "Come on. We have a lot to do."

It took us four hours to drive there on our bikes, while we had our belongings sent in a car. The house was made out of stone. It was secluded right on the ocean shore. Seclusion was a good thing for us to be able to shift without witnesses and to keep an eye out for the Sirens. Nyle and I went on a tour of the home.

It was basically like our personal mansion. Nyle's room was as green as fresh seaweed. Large and spacious. Our rooms were on opposite sides of the home which gave us privacy and space. We may have shared a womb but does not mean we must share everything. My room reminded me the color of the deep ocean. It was peaceful. It was late so I decided it was time to shower and hit the bed.

When we woke I could not help but feel nervous. I wanted to make a good impression. I wore a pair of ripped jeans with a black v neck t-shirt. I looked in the mirror deciding to leave my hair in its messy form. Looks styled but not like I tried.

I met Nyle in the kitchen where we chowed down on frozen breakfast burritos. He was wearing the same thing as me except his shirt was a dark green. I am very glad we are fraternal twins. I have black shorter hair and he has dark blond shoulder length hair. My eyes are blue like my mother's and his are green like our fathers. "You ready bro." I laughed "Yeah, as I will ever be." We then hopped on our bikes and headed to Ocean View High.

As soon as we arrived girls began fawning over us it was flattering but annoying. We already had a paper explaining our school schedule for our classes. Nyle had two straight periods of theater which he loved. My first period was literature. I did not mind.

As I entered the room the smell of ocean and jasmine hit me. Father and mother taught us about this but it was extremely rare. Mates. I have a destined mate and she was here, in this school, in this class, and was human. "There is an open seat next to Meysa." I saw a girl raise her hand signaling who she was and she was stunning.
