Chapter 12 Preliminary fights and Mimikku blood surfaces

Standing before the genin a ninja by the name of Hayate Gekko looked at the group asking them to do something before they all proceed.

Hayate: "We have to have a preliminary exam before we move on to the real one"

This caused a bit of the sir as some were confused while others were outraged. 

Sakura: "Excuse me sensei but I don't really see the point> whats this preliminary about why cant we move on to the third exam?"

Hayate: "Uhh you see the first and second exams may have been to easy, the fact of the matter is we never expected this many of you to be here"

Y/n: (so basically were better then they thought so they wanna trim down the herd)

Hayate: "According to the rules of the chunin exam a preliminary round can be held at any stage in order to reduce the number of candidates remaining"

Sakura seemed like she was gonna speak out only to feel Y/n grab her shoulder and shake his head making her stay quiet. 

Y/n: "So whats this preliminary test gonna be?" he called out

Hayate: "First things first, if any of you think you are not in top physical condition now is your chance to drop out" he started coughing again "The preliminaries will start immediately"

Kiba: "C'mon you mean right now?"

Ino: "We barely survived the last exam don't we get a break?"

Shikamaru: "What a drag"

Choji: "When do we eat"

Y/n: (None of us came this far just to drop out) he then put a hand to his left eye again feeling the burning return (Why is this only in one eye now?) 

Hayate: "The winners will be determined by one on one combat sudden death so like I said now is your chance to bow out"

Satsuki: (Does he really think anyone will quit?) she then held herneck feeling some pain

Sakura noticed this and tried to convince Satsuki to drop out. Meanwhile with the Hokage and jonin they were a where of the curse mark with Anko suggesting to lock her up with anbu. Kakashi however disputed this saying how she's an Uchiha witch made Anko explain how a curse mark is a forbidden jutsu.

Eventually Sakura looked as if she was gonna raise her hand only to feel someone grab hers and put it down. Looking back she saw it was Y/n using his free hand to hold hers. 

Y/n: "Relax Sakura, I know your worried but this decision isnt yours to make" he then looks to Satsuki "That being said, if that mark starts to seriously effect you i'll take you down myself and tell the jonin"

Sakura: "Y/n?"

Satsuki simply looked at him and nodded agreeing to his terms

Satsuki: "Good because there are two people I wanna fight the most, Y/n, Naruko" she spoke adressing the two

Hayate: "If nobody is dropping out lets move on to the preliminary round. This will consist of one on one fights at full battle intensity, there's 22 of you left meaning there will be 11 matches. The surviving candidates will advance to the third exam, as for the rules there are none. You will fight until one dies, concedes defeat or is rendered incapable of continuing. Naturally if your losing we urge you to concede defeat to avoid a fatal outcome. furthermore as proctor I may intervene if a match seems pointless so save as many lives as possible. Now lets see what fate has in store for you" he looks back at Anko nodding

A few seconds later a large panel is revealed

Hayate: "Names will be randomly selected and shown on the screen behind me. As theirs nothing else to say lets begin>"
